On Monday, a school bus in Huntsville, Alabama ran off a highway bridge and nosedived 30 ft into the ground below. 40 high school kids + the bus driver were on the bus. So far 4 girls have died and many more hostpitalized. Authorities are still investigating what caused the bus to go off the overpass.

In alabama as well as some other states, buses are not required to have seatbelts. Attempts have been made to have seatbelts a requirement, but have been rejected. Testing has shown that school buses is the safest mode of transportation for school kids. That is, impacts from fender benders and minor collisions will most likely be absorbed by the sheer size of buses. They probably didnt think that a school bus would ever plunge off a 30 foot highway overpass. Imagine if the school bus had elementary students instead of high schoolers. It could of been much worse. I dont care what the school board or whoever says but school buses need seatbelts! even if it costs 10 or 20 million for each state!

Results of the Senate Elections: 49 Democrats, 49 Republicans, 2 Independents. One of the Independent winners is Joe Lieberman (Connecticut). 

After losing in the Democratic primary, Senator Joe Lieberman ran as an independent in the Connecticute Senate election. Surprisingly, he won re-election as an independent. After winning, everyone wondered,  will he become a Democrat or will he count as an independent who caucuses with the Democrats who got the Senate. Lieberman spokeman Dan Gerstein said late Thursday in an email that the senator will begin his new term as a Democrat. Since the Democrats took the majority of the Senate, Lieberman is in the line of succession to become chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

As the Iraq war has progressed, more and more US soldiers have been killed. When will all the blood shed be stopped? So far the US military casualities have topped 2800! I can't believe our troops are getting killed everyday at such an alarming rate. In the month of October alone, 105 US troops were killed.

Not only are our troops suffering from the war in Iraq, innocent Iraqi civilians are shot, tortured, blown up-- killed everyday. The rate of civilians getting killed in the war can not be exactly computed. So far as of October 15, the minimum number of civilians killed since the war started is 46,744 and the maximum civilians killed is 51,844. How awful is that? What do you think people! Yes or no to the continuance of war? Yes or no to Bush in 2008?

I've taken the SAT and ACT multiple times. Each time I had different experiences. Different experiences ranged from taking the test while I was a little sick to annoying proctors who messed up. Just wanted to hear what you guys and girls think about the SAT and ACT.

My day went like this.

I got up from an long awkward sleep. I say awkward because all my school books and papers were scattered all over my bed. I fell asleep! O crap, I didnt finish my homework. O well, I can finish it in class. I took a quick shower, and went down to eat breakfast. I remember today was election day! I am so excited because I love watching election races, how all the numbers rack up and see if the republican, democratic, or even independent won.

A Delaware judge ordered a man to wear a T-shirt with the words: "I am a registered sex offender" in bold letters.

Russell Teeter, 69, who pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent exposure, was sentenced to 60 days in prison. His punishment was the result of exposing himself to a 10 year old girl twice at his workplace. Teeter has been diagnosed as a compulsive exhibitionist and had 10 past convictions of exposing himself to children. The judge thought that this T-shirt method would be a new effective way of letting his customers know that he is a sex offender. Teeter will have to wear the T-shirt at work for 22 months after he gets out of jail.

On November 2, Texas put a virtual border watch online. This virtual border watch is a broadcasting of live images of the U.S. border on the Internet so that the public may help report signs of illegal immigration or drug dealing activity. Before, the images were only available to law enforcement officers and landowners where the cameras were located.

Views from 8 different cameras went live at www.texasborderwatch.com . Viewers are able to email reports of suspicious activity. Hot spots for illegal activity include the Amistad Reservoir in Del Rio and Falcon Lake in Zapata. Eventually, the project will include up to at least 70 cameras throughout south Texas.

Grabbing a girl with no sexual motive--- a sexual offense? 

Let's say you're driving down a street and suddenly a girl walks right in front of your car. You quickly swerve to avoid hitting her. You become angry that a girl foolishly almost got killed. You jump out of the car to lecture the girl. You come up and grab the girl's arm and she pulled away and called authorities.
