The August 26th issue of U.S. News and World Report was dedicated to Americas best colleges.  The scores are based on many different things including; peer assesment, graduation rate, percent of classes with more then 50 kids, alumni giving rank etc.  I will include some of the results and I encourage you to comment on wether or not you would agree with this.  Many times i believe that the colleges ranked the best are ranked this way from tradition in psat generations.  They are stereotypically good.  If you attend one of these schools please sharee why you agree or disagree with the ranking, it may help others to choose colleges in the future.

Recently a new vaccine has been approved by the fda.. The Human papilloma virus can be especially dangerous to women.  This virus is capable of causing cancer of the cervix, vulva, vagina, anus or penis.  HPV is essentially an STD, but one that can be prevented.  Most people will not develop any symptoms and will clear the body of the infection themselves, but there are more then 100 differemt strains of this virus and so it can become harmful.  Many people after reading that their body will clearr the infection in many cases do not worry about the consequences HPV has.  50% of sexially active men and women acquire the HPV virus in their life.  80% of women have acquired it by the age 50.  The point I am trying to make is, ask your doctor if you can recieve the shot it can only help you .  The shot is adminstered 3 times over three months and is relativley painless considering the fact it could save you a lot of pain in the long run.  Even if you are not sexually active the time to get it is now!  This is because once you have acquired HPV the vaccine may not help it.  by recieving the shot before activly having sex reduces your chances of actually getting the STD. 

When you here someone mention "My Super Sweet Sixteen" what do you think?  Spoiled, rich, mean, and nasty girls that don't deserve anything.  This is what most teenagers will say to themselves and others, but is this fair?  Do you know these girls?  Do you know there life outside a 22 minute snap of their life?  Most likely the answer is no, you do not.  So why judge them and lable them in such a way that only makes yourself look immature and mean.  I know what a lot of you are thinking when you read this.  What is this girl thinking, she does not know those girls either so who is she to judge?  Well the reason I made sure not to say all teenegers do something is because judgement of those I don't know is something i strongly disagree with.  I can however say something about the girls that were on the show because I was one of them.  I'm heading to New York City in a few days and I had to fill out a survey about what has been going on sense the show was filmed and I just thought it might be interesting to share.  This is the real me, not the girl you see on tv.  That is entertainment, those are my worst moments and trust me when you have a camera following you all the time and the stress of planning a party you tend to get a little stressed and aggravated.
