Is Being Transgender Bad Faith?

The issue of "transgendered" people is a hot topic for discussion in today's world.  Read More »

NOT everyone is special.

I've been thinking a lot lately. I've come to the conclusion that I'm done appologizing for the way I believe.  Read More »

"Poor Me"

Everyone has a sob story.

Honestly, if you can find a person who cares, you're lucky. Or unfortunate, depending on how you look at it.

I'm writing this blog because I'm sick of the "emo" and helpless, hopeless people that feel the need to cry and cry about things that they can control.  Read More »

War in Iraq #1 Reason for Voters Choosing Democrats

The Democratic party recently won the House.  The number one reason for most voters choosing the Democrats was because they were unsatisfied with the war in Iraq.  From there, their choices were influenced by Bush's performance, the economy, etc.

I've never been one to keep up with the news.  I just don't have time to read all the newspapers and watch the news.  So, I haven't kept up with every minute detail of what's going on in Iraq.  Read More »

Why does every debate end up a debate about Religion?

Tagged:
It doesn't really matter what the subject is, everyone seems to end the discussion with a debate about religion.  Christians seem to categorize athiests, while athiests categorize Christians.  There is never a solution to the problem because everyone is too caught up with religion.  No one can set aside their faith system for a moment and simply address the situation at hand.  This is meant to be a discussion...  Read More »

So Sue Me!

Everyone's got something to complain about, some way to get money off of someone else.  Between divorce settlements and people like the lady that sued McDonald's for selling her coffee that was too hot causing her to burn herself, the world is chaotic with bickering.  I'm tired of hearing about these lawsuits, especially when I hear that the plaintiffs are winning them.  What is the world coming to when we allow such trivial matters into a court of law?

What Will They Think?

Have you ever noticed how much we depend on other people's approval?  It seems as though we can't make decisions, try something new, or believe in something without making sure that those whom we look up to will approve.

For instance: Say a student wanted to be a writer.  He loved to write; it gave him a sense of fulfillment.  But, when he told his friends and family, they laughed at him saying that writing is a competitive field and the only ones that make money are those that are the best at it.  He decides to be a teacher instead, never knowing what could have been had he pursued his dream.  Read More »

America Needs Its Poor

In response to those who pity the poor: Let's face the truth.  America was never the "land of milk and honey" in that we never had a problem with desperately poor people until now.  While it is sad that people have to live like that, we HAVE to have the lower class.  We have to have people that clean toilets and do the dirty work.  We can't all be doctors and lawyers.  It is difficult for them to live on their wages, but there simply isn't enough money to give them all what they would like to be paid.  If a family comes to the United States, they should come because of what we have to offer: freedom, rights, and opportunity.  It is up to the individuals to make something of themselves, not to the country.  Those who lack initiative are the ones that end up in the poor jobs.  I know that it is hard to make ends meet off of minimum wage.  I also know that it is possible.  And I have seen people that have started at the bottom and worked their way to the top.  It's all a matter of perspective.  If you think, "Oh no, there's a poor family," and then you see what they waste their money on (drugs, ciggarettes, alcohol, lotto tickets) then you might not feel so sorry for them.  I realize not everyone is like that; I'm only saying that there are ways of advancement and there are other things that make these families as poor as they are.  Our government may fall, as every government eventually does, but I don't believe it will be due to the poor.  Every country has poor people.  It is an unavoidable fact of life that is unattractive, but necessary.  Read More »
