Prom: what's the point?

While it makes sense, that prom is considered to be the ultimate night of bonding, isn't it just way too much trouble for what you get out of it? Bad music+slutty people+lame parties+really expensive dance with bad decorations+dates groping you.

other than getting to buy really cool dresses, what's the point?

teens and plastic surgery

Tagged:

It used to seem like plastic surgery was really only something that happened to teens in movies, or TV, like Rachel on friends.  I always figured that I wouldn't know anyone who had their body altered before graduated.  A friend just got a nose job, which of course is very obvious to the whole school because her nose looks completely different, and while i completely believe that eve

are AP classes worth it?

Tagged:

I understand the the government developed the AP system to prove that we were smarter than Russia, but that was 1947, and incase no one noticed, the cold war is over.  They AP system has lost it's integrity.  Most of it's teacher's are marginal, texts are confusing, and without a review book the students would be helpless.  Is an AP really comprible with the same course at college level?

No thank you for smoking

Teens have been taught since grade school that smoking kills.  How many pictures of black lungs have you seen in school? I've seen more than i can remember.  Teens in our day and age have lived long enough to see the affects smoking has had on relative and friend, not to mention the rest of the world.

So i ask you this, why do so many teen still start smoking? and even worse, why do they say they do it because it's COOL!? seriously, its not cool, it doesn't make you skinny, and definatly doesn't make you look any younger.  why throw your life away with something so ridiculous before you even hit college?

American Idol v. American political system

You know the country is at a loss when the top two American Idol contestants last week recieved more votes that any president in a resent election.  Maybe cingular should start letting voters text their vote for politicians, or maybe we should just make a reality show out of elections.  It is utterly and completely disgusting that our country is so obsessed with the media, while the coun

americas obsession with weird baby names

Tagged:

Why are celebrities suddenly obsessed with giving their children the oddest, most ridiculous names in the history of the universe.  Do they not realize that one day Apple Martin will be 75, and quite possibly sick of being named after a fruit.  Now as for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Suri is hardly an appropriate name, unless one finds themselves in love with show tunes from Oklahoma!.&n
