As I sit here, reading through all the texts written by the bloggers here, I cannot help but begin to notice and understand something. While, in the beginning, I came here because I heard of some money being given to those who could write and post I now can honestly say something different. I read and I write and I think and I write more...and I look over all the entries I see made on this site. I see hopes, dreams, asperations, awareness being written down, thoughts, musings, even bitter rants and thoughts I find to be counter-productive. Though my time on this site has been relatively short, I feel that I can honestly say that I have a genuine opinion.

What I am taught
The transition to the real world from that little personal bubble.
Bright eyed, slightly scruffy in pajama pants, ragged jeans and flip flops, no concept of the juggernaut that lies before them, standing near mommy or daddy or grandma or grandpa as the speaker presents. Oh the joys of the college orientation experiance. Some of the faces area little worn, the parents knowing the pain of forking over 14K to get little Susy or Timmy in school. Oh how they pray that they wo't join the stoners who sit near the courtyard in hemp fabric with loads of beads or join up with the Aryan Nation (a vile group yet protected under the joyous armor of Free Speach). The students themselves just listen intently, the nervousness in the air heavy in the room. However, in one...perhaps two....maybe even three...there is a calm look.
A little essay I wrote
When the link is up, I will share it with you people. Today I took my two entries on my blog about pagan scholarships (and how they are needed), and pagan seminary and merged them together a little bit with some tieing in writing. It is called "Giving Pagans their Due" and when it is allowed to be posted on Witchvox, we all can read and discuss. My two posts were originally going to be one monster post but, in an effort to be less wordy, I broke my posting down. I am very thankful for I support I was given on the one one talking about pagan scholarships. Hopefully, with my writings, I will be able to proverbally light a fire under people's asses to get them off and running.
Candlelit Passion
Poem I wrote some time ago, for a love that was not meant to be.
Are you really persecuted?
Today I had a most amusing conversation with someone I met outside, of all places, the local christian bookstore. I had just walked by the store on my way uptown to the local drugstore/candy store where a soda and a candy bar still cost only 75 cents. I had just happened to walk by two people having some small talk. Now normally I never really bother to pay attention much to people's business..just walking on my way not bothering anyone. However I could not help but overhear this little nugget of knowledge. "You can't be a christian in today's society anymore, you get persecuted for praying in a classroom or at a kid's ballgame or your faith in the lord is shot down. People really need to get right with god, this is injustice." I stopped and turned around.
I don't see much for a classic teaching.
During my scholarship search in order to pursue my dreams of pagan seminary, there would be times that I would be rather surprised that given my majors I recieved rather little options in scholarships. My majors are of theology and philosophy (starting out) and you'd think that since philosophy itself is a rather classic teaching that there would be solid funding for it. Sadly though you'd be rather sadly mistaken, as I was.
Why I am here
I am here to write, I am here to give out my thoughts and feelings. I am driven to write here, where people can read and look upon my writings, because I have found problems. I have concerns for these problems, and I am here to lead people to find ways to deal with these problems. I am a bastion of clarity and reason in a world where reason and clarity are slipping away. I am a storm, a tempest here to disrupt the coozy seas of those who float about in contentment with the inadequate waters that drown society. I am a shaman, a magician-in-training, a seminary student of serpent and ancient gods..here to offer wisdom and help to those who need it.
