Annoying People

Tagged:

okay so this one is just me ranting about some annoying people who have left less than intelligent comments on my blog posts......you don't need to read this one if you don't want to.....i'm just more than a little frustrated with some people at the moment.....

so, i just read a comment by one person on one of my first entries, who decided to correct me on a few things...one of the things this person "corrected" me on wasn't even mentioned in my entry, so that was pointless......the second thing had nothing to do with the point i had been trying to make in that blog, which that point was that Afghanistan and Iraq are two completely different countries, as are their situations. I may have miscommunicated on how many countries are between the two, but that is beside the point of what i was trying to tell people. my point was to prove that you can't compare the two countries and their respective situations to each other because they are far enough apart that there aren't really many similarities between them.

Stereotypes - Yuck!

so i've noticed people have lately taken a "liking" (for lack of better word) to using stereotypes.....i myself have been a victim of stereotypes in the past....and still am sometimes....

My dad and some of his co-workers were out to lunch one day and saw some of the construction workers around town doing their job ya know......most of them were Hispanics ( i refuse to say Mexicans because that is derrogatory, not all come from mexico!) So, the guys with my dad got on the subject of border control and one of them made the comment of "yeah for every one of them we see there's probably ten that we don't see because you know they always bring a ton of their family members with them, ya know?" my dad got so mad at the guy. he told him off and said that maybe it was just that one person here for work and how do we know whether he brought anyone with him at all. who are we to be judging them, when we're too lazy or whatever to do the job that him and the guy like that hispanic are doing? that shut the guys up right there.....and my dad has a point.

Are You A People Person?

Tagged:  •

if you're a people person, like me, i have the best job for you then! (and for me, lol).....

Being a nurse is the greatest job in the world if you are good with people. i'm a CNA (well, i'll be on the state registry after this weekend hopefully)......CNA= Certified Nursing Assistant......it's great, it's in high demand so you'll be able to find a job no matter where you live, and as long as you're serious in your training it's pretty easy. you really have to pay attention and take notes during the classes though, and during the labs, so that you actually know what you're doing when you get to doing the clinicals.....clinicals are the best part of the class if you ask me. you actually get to do the things you've been practicing in class and in labs and you get great hands-on experience. however, some patients may not want students performing things on them, and they may not even want you watching a procedure.

Response To People

about the last blog i did.....

okay for starters, some of you apparently didn't read the entire thing that well, i am not insulting anyone, and i'm sorry if some of you took it that way. i said that i may not entirely agree with it, but if you can make it work i'm all for it.

it only disgusts me if it's someone my age who is dating someone who is like 20 or 30 years older. to me, it's like they don't think people our age are good enough for them, aren't mature enough, etc.  i don't mind if it's someone who is in college dating someone older, because they've been out in the world longer than someone like me who is just out of high school. they would know more of what they want in a person and are mature enough to make that decision. i think people my age shouldn't jump to conclusions just because one person treats them bad, then everyone the age of that person is bad. that's wrong also.

Opus Dei

Tagged:  •

so many people who have seen or read the Da Vinci Code are trying to figure out what Opus Dei is......one of my friends hasn't seen or read it, so it was kind of hard to explain to her what they are and how not all of them are like the bad guy in Da Vinci Code....

so what is opus dei? here's a part qouted directly from their website (www.opusdei.org) : "Opus Dei is a Catholic institution founded by Saint Josemaría Escrivá. Its mission is to help people turn their work and daily activities into occasions for growing closer to God, for serving others, and for improving society". as for that bad guy? he's one of the extremes.....he wears the cilice and uses the discipline....but what does all of that mean?

The Great Wall of America?

so in iowa there's this Toons newspaper.....it has a bunch of political cartoons mixed in with normal ones, and some are kind of funny and some really get you thinking.....like the one i'm about to talk about....

It has the president, the secretary of defense, and the leader of china all together, trying to figure out the problem of border security. The leader of china has a speech bubble with a picture of the great wall of china in it, and the secretary of defense is saying that he might have a good idea on how the US can fix their problem.

How About That Local Economy?

Tagged:  •

So in one of the comments to a previous post, a fellow blogger brought up the point of local economies.....so now i will discuss this point, since they gave me permission to use it.

okay so, businesses are sending factories and jobs overseas. Big deal. Yeah it is a big deal. they are taking away jobs, which can hurt our economy because then there are fewer people employed and that then increases the unemployment rate which reflects negatively on our economy because there are fewer people with money to buy things which bolsters our economy.
