Internships: Before You Go

I have finally arrived in California for my internship, which begins tomorrow at 9am sharp. Although waiting was a huge part of the process, there was so much to accomplish before I hopped a flight out here. This is probably the most difficult step and although I cannot even begin to cover every little detail, I can let you know a lot of the basics that need to be thought about.

Biography: Barack Obama

The kind folks at The Biography Channel recently provided us with an advanced copy of the Barack Obama Biography that went on sell at Wal-Mart today. I had a chance over the weekend to sit down and review the biography in full and I have to confess that I'm glad I did.

Once you have sent in all of your application materials the next step to your quest for an internship will likely be an interview. This experience will be unlike any interview you may have done before. In a job interview you are in the spotlight answering questions dealing with your past experiences and how they fit the new position.

When I was little, my grandmother would read me Little Black Sambo, by Hellen Bannerman, though one thing eluded my understanding: how do tigers turn into butter? I could never quite wrap my mind around that, but I simply accepted it as fact.
