Did you hear about the woman who shot and killed the man attempting to break into her house??? She didn't even know that she shot him!

What happened was at an earlier date, a man broke into this old woman's house and robbed her and beat her pretty badly. As far as I know, this man was not caught.

A few weeks later someone tries breaking into her house again. She has security bars on her door so this man is trying to take them off. She pulls out her gun and shoot at the door. Well, she killed the man. She had no clue though....was too scared to look. The next morning her daughter or daughter in-law brought her breakfast or something (don't remember the exact details) and this dead guy is on the front porch.

What I don't understand is how it got this far with these kids. I mean, they are adopted and the family also had a foster child. That means that Social Services had to be in and out of that house a countless number of times checking up on the foster child. Did they not notice the treatment of the adopted boys? Did they not see how malnourshed and skinny these kids were? Or, did they just ignore it?

Ok, so let me start of this blog by introducing myself to everyone!

I am a student majoring in Criminology and Criminal Justice. I chose this major for a variety of reasons. First off, it interests me...a lot. Secondly, a few years back there was a death in the family that is still 'unsolved'. I do not want other people to have to go through what I have been going through with this death. I want to be able to help. One of the main things that interests me in Criminology is Forensics. I love it!! (CSI is one of my favorite shows)!! Anyhow, while I am working on my Bachelor's in Criminology I am also taking an online program in Forensics!
