Scientists fight back

Scientists have begun making their agenda known regarding the validity of evolution and intelligent design. The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has come out strongly against legislation that would inhibit the teaching of evolution. The organization stated:

Too many scandals, too little time

Former Malaysian PM, Mahathir Mohamad, said Jack Abramoff received $1.2 million to set up a meeting between him and Bush. According to Mohamad the Heritage Foundation convinced him to attend the meeting. Taking the time to look up the Heritage Foundation on wikipedia I noticed that the foundation is considered a charity due to the fact that it does not "lobby". Seems to me that if the Heritage Foundation paid the $1.2 million to "lobbyist" Jack Abramoff - and I'm not saying they did - they would lose their 501(c)(3) status. Read More »

It appears that political appointees have been pressuring NASA scientists regarding their advocacy of the existence of global warming. As Representative Bart Gordon (D-Tenn.) stated, "...censorship permeates this entire administration, NASA being no exception." Unfortunately for the Bush administration science has this annoying characteristic that it is dependent upon - what are they called again? - oh, yeah, facts. You know, those things that can't be denied no matter how much oil and fuel lobbyists pay ($343,896,623 between 1998 and 2004). Read More »
