The 1st Ammendment of the Bill of Rights claims that Americans have the right of Freedom of Speech. In ways, I believe that this is a great thing to have. But also gives people the right to use profanity in public places, very loudly, and be completely rude. Then you have the little kids who are allowed to be rude, then justify it with "this is a free country" or "freedom of speech."
Throughout history, racism has been a major issue. In today's society, it still is an issue. There are many elderly people who were brought up to be racist, and they raised their children the same way. Many people like to believe that white people are racist against black people. Yes, it is true that there are many white people who are indeed racist.
I recently read a blog talking about the war in Iraq, and President George Bush. In this blog, the writer was talking about how he wished that the troops would be able to leave Iraq because he has family in the army, but that he knows that they have to stay, which is all well and good.
Every single day, you hear new information on the news about the War on Terror, only this new information is really just the same things that have been happening for five years. Someone's husband was killed in an ambush. Someone's son was murdered. Someone's daughter was helping take care of the wounded.
Should two people from the same sex be allowed to get married? This is a debate that has been going on for many years.
I had posted a blog about a month ago about songs with lyrics that are degrading and immoral towards women. I still stand and say that those type of songs shouldn't be recorded. Of course, there really isn't much that I can do about that because of the freedom of speech law, but I think younger children should be more protected from those lyrics.
Let me just say now, I know that this has become a very touchy subject....I've read other blogs about it. And I know that some people may feel offended or agree, but either way, I'm not trying to start a big arguement with anybody. So if you feel offended, I'm very sorry.
I can't believe that this August, I will be a senior in high school. Time has flown by. I mean, I can still remember things from when I was in kindergarten. I am so happy that my senior year will be here soon, but at the same time, I am scared to death and very sad.
