it seems like everyone has an opinion on the immigration issue

Tagged:  •

Everyone knows that the immigration issue is the biggest thing in the news right now. Everyone also has an opinion on the issue as well. Okay so yeah I live in Arkansas (please don't laugh) and we do not have as many illegal immigrants here than out west but that really doesn't matter. You know I come from a rich background of immigrants in my family. On my mom's side I am the first to ever be born in the United States and on my dad's side I am third generation Italian so I know a thing or two about the issue. It really outrages me that these Mexicans come into our country and have the gall the demand anything out of us. I saw them on the news waving Mexican flags while protesting to become legal American citizens. They need to go to Mexico and demand out of their country what they are demanding in ours. If any one of us went to say.....Russia ILLEGALY and began to protest in the streets waving American flags and saying that they must speak our language and let us into their country and support us they would laugh in our face, put us in jail, and send us back home. I know we are a country of immigrants and it is what makes us so diverse and rich in culture, but enough is enough. I have an uncle who is still in Europe. My mom and her sister live here as well as my grandmother. He and his family are there alone. When my grandmother moved to the states a few years back he tried getting a greencard to come to this country. He went to school and learned a skill so that when he came here he would be able to immediatly obtain a job....the only catch was he wanted to do it before his kids got to old to move here. He was put on a twelve year waiting list. The only reason that my Nan was able to come into the country so fast was because my mom is a citizen and there is a direct connection between the two of them. And that really pisses me off. Here we are just trying to bring together my small tight knit family and we can't seem to do it. But then you have these mexicans who sneak into our country and then have the balls to demand something out of us. You know what I say. Send them back home and the jobs that they leave should be taken by all indviduals on public assistance that are physically able to work, but gives those individuals some assitance and gradually tapper off until it is no longer needed. And whatever jobs are left to fill then the government should allow so many to come into our country to work on a greencard for a certain amount of time then after they can stay home. But then again that is what is wrong with our government. No matter whether you are talking about Democrats or Republicans neither side is going to do anything because they are too worried about losing the hispanic vote.

so what if she has two mommies

Last night my mom and I watched this movie on HBO that most of you have probably heard of....All Aboard Rosie's Family Cruise. I know that a lot of people were up in arms over the whole deal. In the film you can see how these "alternative" families are just as loving and functional as any other normal family. In many of the cases of two men or two women adopting children they adopt children that would not have a chance at being adopted due to their race, being a child addicted to drugs, or sadly enough their age. There is no reason why two men could not raise children in a loving, structured, and safe enviorment as well as a man and a woman. There were also a lot of couples who had had their children through invetro-insemination or by a seragant mothers.

Something Has Got to Give

You hear all over the news about how the elderly and young children are in desperate need of health care. Did you know that the largest amount of uninsured induviduals are in their 20's? I live in the hole they named Arkansas and if your not old, pregnant, or a child it is practically impossible to get medicaid. Because I am 25 years old I am not able to get insurance through either of my parents.

A Modern Day Witch Hunt

I am not a person who gets caught up in things in the media and gets outraged about something going on. But for once I am. The Duke La Crosse players have really got it bad. Here we have a D.A. who is up for re-election trying just for that. He thinks that if he comes down on these rich boys from the north that he is going to appeal to the citizens of his city. I personally think that he will eventually pay the price for what he is doing. Rape is a serious issue before us and as a woman I am concerned about my safety in that aspect. But come on. Number one there is no way that anyone can say that she was definetly raped. The only thing that the hospital can say is that she has injuries consistent with rape. Okay, they said that. But it is still her word against theirs. She is a stripper and more that likely has prosituted herself in the past. I have known a couple people who stripped in the past and they have all said that where ever there is stripping there is prostitution and drugs. And number two she has been convicted of....fraud (at least I think that was it, if not I am not too far off). Okay everyone knows that if you have a La Crosse player from Duke University then he probably comes from money. And what ya know, they come from money. I think that she is out for a conviction so she can take them to civil court and get a huge settlement.
