Before I put on an article that I found from the NY Times, I would like to say something. On the article that you are about to read is about high school students who do not complete their requirements to graduate are able to attend college. Some two and four year colleges accept students who do not finish high school to be "College students." This article just gives me another explination why the American education is so bad. High school students who do not complete their requirements should not go to college. Why? Because this will encourage students to slack off in school. They may think "Oh, I don't have to work so hard and pass all my classes in school because the colleges will take me no matter what." Another way of looking at it, colleges just want to make money. Remember, college is a form of business. So they will take students who can't complete high school so that they can make more money. Do you think so? Plus, how can colleges expect students who can't finish high school to be sucessful and earn good grades in their colleges? On June 7th was the prom night at my school. At the prom, I saw this gay couple who sat at their table and refused to dance. I apporached to them and invited them to dance. I asked them "why don't you dance?" Their response killed my prom night. They're said "No body wanna see two men griding and dance intimately." I'm sorry but that's the bs response I have ever heard of. So what if you are gay, just go dance and have fun. I danced with girls and no one gave a damn thing about it. Plus, they paid 85 dollars for prom tickets so why not dance? It's a waste of their money if they were to sit there all night in which they actually did.  Read More »

So I was sitting in the subway, I was looking at the front page of AM New York, the free newspaper that gives out every morning near my train station. So on the front cover, it says "When it comes to terrorist attacks, we're on our own." According to the paper, New York City will get 124.5 million dollars for this year's grant to prepare against terrorist attacks. The local politicians in New York City including Senator Clinton are saying that it is unfair to cut the budget on NYC because of 9/11. It is important not to cut the budget in order to keep the city secure from any kind of such attack.  Read More »

If you watch Bush's speech tonight, you know what I am talking about. Many of you may have read my story and my opinion about illegal immigrants and immigrants in general. Overall, I think illegal immgrants deserve to have a temporary  working program in U.S. Many legal immigrants I talked to don't think it's fair to have illegal immigrants to become citizens. I still think they deserve to be in U.S legally whether they get the U.S citizenship or not. Just to get to live in U.S properly, the Department of Homeland secruity drives my family crazy. They check everything on us, from the financial status to criminal backgrounds. People that are here legally are still on the line waiting to be called for green card or citizenship approval. Send My Friend to School Week took place in Washington D.C from April 25-27 2006. Send My Friend to School Week is part of Global Campaign for Education. It is a non-profit group which advocate for free primary education around the world. The USA chapter of this organization is currently running Gene Sperling. Sperling was the economic advisor for Clinton Administration. The chairman of  this event was Angelina Jolie. As many of you know that she is about to give birth, she couldn't make it to the event. However, she sent a private message to me and the other 24 high school students who participated in this advocacy event. Because Jolie couldn't make it to D.C in part of Send My Friend to School Week, she broke her slience by giving an interview with the Today's Show. She talked about the importance of education and why everyone around the world should pay attention to it.  Read More »

Since there was a blog about war in Uganda, I decided to post Questions and Answers page from bbcnews.co.uk about Northern Ugandan war. This is the war that many young children were kidnapped and being trained to fight for LRA aka Lord's Resistance Army which was founded by Joseph Kony. He is like Bin Laden; no one really knows where he actually is. People and LRA are still believe that he is alive. This war from what I know has taken away many children and families apart. There are about 1 million children (if I'm not mistaken) are internally displaced. They are scattered around the country.
