There are a lot of things in life that one cannot prepare enough for in advance. Outside of first person experience, there is no way to prepare for it. Rape is one of those.
It's human nature to stereotype people-even as much as I try not to I end up stereotyping people without even realizing it. I used to do it a lot.
Then I was diagnosed with epilepsy, or seizure disorder, my junior/senior year of high school. I didn't care who knew- I was still me, the same person. I didn't think people would care at all.
