Islam and a look back on religion
I am currently in the process of reading the Koran. As many of you who have read my previous writings can assume, I am rather critical of religion for all the wrongs done in its name throughout history.

Massacre in Darfur:In A State of Suffering
February is the month where the problems of racism are remembered. From the times of slavery, the blatant discrimination through our history, and triumph during the civil rights movement, it reminds us to not repeat the past.

Euthanasia
Nothing special. Just an in class persuasive essay of whether or not Euthanasia should be legalized. I said yes.
Euthanasia is justified in that the death of oneself should be entirely up to the individual and others have no right to decree what should become of the person and whether he should live or die. Currently in the
United States, euthanasia is illegal with serious consequences if done. Recent events however should allow the rebirth of whether or not it should be legalized.

The Monroe Doctrine
The Monroe Doctrine
The Monroe Doctrine was originally designed to prevent European powers from gaining
more land in the Americas so that the United States could obtain more territory by expanding
Westward. As time progressed, and the United States began to exceed other American Nations
during the Progressive Era, the Monroe Doctrine was used to ensure United States political and

A Modest Proposal of Swift
The create of Gulliver's Travels and A Modest Proposal was a very political individual who wrote satires to criticize the British and Irish politics of his time. We could learn much from this man. So next time you read his work, think about the hidden meaning behind his story.
The fine works of Swift called Gullivers Travels and A Modest Proposal are both satires designed to have hidden meaning behind their hilarious and ludicrous viewpoints. In these two works Swift criticizes English society and to a lesser extent that of Irish society as well. Swift did this in the hopes that readers would understand and begin to see the futility of certain aspects in their culture and ways.

Tribute to Comrade Snowball
What we had to do is write about someone we know who have not received enough credit for their efforts. At the time, we were reading Animal Farm. So to make in interesting, I wrote my paper in dedication of Comrade Snowball. Anyone who ever read Animal Farm will understand. Tell me what you guys think.
There are those in society whom gain respect, there are those who are admired, and then there are those who inspire us to rise up and do something about the problem. This friend of mine has inspired me more than ever in my philosophies and my viewpoints of this sinister world. My friend was responsible for setting up a system for others to have followed long afterwards. He believed in all his heart what he preached and avoided continually from straying from that path even when personal benefit was involved. He knew that all should be equal. Sadly there are those selfish enough to have disagreed with him. They did all they could to prevent him from his dreams. When they could not stop him with their intellect, they resorted to violence to drive him out. He was the son of animalism. Yes comrades, I speak of my good friend Snowball. The pig driven out of Animal Farm from the Stalinist filth called Napoleon.
Snowball was from a place called Manor Farm. This farm was run by the capitalist named Mr. Jones who treated the farm animals with both cruelty and disrespect. After hearing of Old Majors dreams about a farm in which all animals were created equal and man was finally eliminated in the world, he worked towards achieving Old Majors beliefs called Animalism. Infallible at nearly everything he did, he worked tirelessly to make animalism a reality and always did it within the boundaries of the animals’ law. He did what other pigs never bothered to try. He attempted to teach the fellow farm animals how to read, set up committees so that each race of animals on the farm would have equal representation on the floor, and even made the symbol of the hoof and horn which was to represent the struggle for animals everywhere in the fight for equality and destruction of humanity. He was the brains of the whole outfit. He was also in the works of creating a windmill which would have rapidly industrialized their third rate farm. He never achieved this dream however; because of one pig that would single handedly change Animal Farm to the worse. That vile pig’s name was Napoleon.
Everything changed for Snowball that fateful day the resolution was put on the floor as to whether or not the Windmill would be created. Napoleon and Snowball were never on equal terms. Each would disagree constantly with the other and bicker on even the most trivial subjects such as the retirement age for older animals. It was clear from the start however, that while Snowball was inspired by setting up a true Animalist society, Napoleon was infected by the lust for power. It would get to the point that Napoleon would just take the opposing viewpoint just because Snowball supported the latter. Napoleon even agreed with Snowball on some points but took the other viewpoint anyway! There is no better example to this than the Windmill. Throughout Snowball’s arguments of creating a Windmill, Napoleon criticized it with little logic. As soon as Comrade Snowball was out of the picture however, Napoleon demanded the creation of it. This was how much hatred and loathing Napoleon had towards Snowball. His hatred influenced him and it was constantly his dislike of Snowball instead of the good of the farm that made him advocate certain actions in regards to the betterment of the farm. Anyway, on that one sad day it was clear that the animals would vote in favor of the Windmill. Napoleon had enough and used his dogs to exile Snowball from the farm forever. Then we all know what happened afterwards on Animal Farm.
Right after his exile, the animals began to become brainwashed by the pigs to think that Snowball was a traitor who had been in league with humanity the whole time. The animals, being too stupid to disagree, quickly succumbed to the lies. With that, all of Snowball’s efforts were either forgotten or given credit to Napoleon. In the end, he got no recognition for his strenuous efforts to create a better society for animals. Either way, all his work was for nil. Animal Farm came once again under the control of human philosophy. Despite all this ill fortune, I personally still have high regards for Comrade Snowball. I, being a fox who attempted to set up a similar farm in Croatia, never even came close to what Comrade Snowball did. I must confess though to have never tried as hard as Snowball did, for I let my laziness come to the better of me. Nevertheless, Comrade Snowball is the most perfect animal I know, always caring for other animals rather than him. When he knew he could easily take over the farm or live off the labor of the other animals as Napoleon and the rest of the pigs had done, he did not for he was a true follower of animalism. Greed was never a factor in his mind. Because of this, I am exceptionally proud of Comrade Snowball. He has proven to me that animalism can actually be achieved. I am no longer skeptical as I once was in those days in Croatia and will work towards this goal. Comrade Snowball has inspired me to go out and change the world.

Economic Independence!
I watch everyday how foreign investments go towards these poor third world nations. The economists constantly say this will bring prosperity to the underdeveloped nation. How foolish do they think we are? Even those who have never taken an economics class can comprehend that this isn't the case. So what is to be done? The only way that an underdeveloped nation can hope to industrialize, is through nationalization of their market. This will eventually bring about economic independence.
