Many alternative therapies come under a lot of fire from the more skeptical sections of modern society and rightly so, but there are always legions of charlatans racing to defend their chosen flavour of con-artistry; no surprise there.

Alternative Schmedcine, Apologists and Bullshit

Alternative Schmedcine Vs Herbalism
I’ve noticed a disturbing trend over the years, one demonstrated even by close personal friends of mine. That trend is the tendency for advocates of Herbalism to also buy into a host of quack therapies indiscriminately based on the viability of certain herbal medicines. They often question, rarely research, but often question the viability of every Western medical procedure and medication they can, but then turn around and pay cold hard cash to have a tube stuffed up their ass, or hot stones placed on their body, or for mystical energy massages from Maori tribesmen, or whatever, without question.

Religious Tolerance
Many religious people believe that religious tolerance is all about religions being allowed to do as they damn well please, while the right to vocally dissent is revoked from anybody who has a problem with their views or practices. The whole notion of religious tolerance would be fine and dandy if all religions were in fact tolerant in their composition, but they are not. So effectively what religious tolerance actually amounts to is, tolerance for the intolerant. They expect to be extended a courtesy that they have no intention of extending to others. No surprises there, “do as we say not as we do”, same old hypocritical rubbish regurgitated with a new vocabulary, but still without a shred of irony.

Major Religions & Fringe Cults: Time to Take a Look in The Mirror
I find it amusing that so many people who belong to major religious organisations look upon the horrible practices of the fringe cults without any sense of irony.

Why Are Republican Homosexuals Such Nasty Homosexuals?
When we look at the general Republican stance on all things homosexual, and then take a look at the type of homosexual that is allied to the Republican movement, I think we can establish a clearer picture on why Republicans are generally so homophobic.
First off, let's take a look at Ted Haggard. Here is a man who declared that "the homosexual agenda" was a devastating sin, he opposed gay marriage, and supported the persecution of homosexuals across America, and he did all this while butt-fucking a rentboy while he was off his tits on meth. He showed total disregard for his family, making a complete mockery of family values, and probably further destroying the lives of his kids. If he had just been upfront like any normal Liberal homosexual he would have spared his family such torment and he could have spent more of his time campaigning to marry the male prostitute he loved rimming so much and made honest men of both of them, no?

Do Christians today behave more like Satanists?
Christians today, lets face it, don't follow their commandments. I mean when we look at the Christian population in America and their American Dream, we are hard pressed to see their commandments in effect. I just want to outline a few of the commandments favoured by The Church of Satan to illustrate this. For those Christians who are getting all hot under the collar after reading these few lines, I must clarify something about the Church of Satan. The Satan they worship has nothing to do with the Christian devil. The powers that be in the Vatican and elsewhere in the Christian massive told their diciples back in the day that Satan and the devil were one. They are not. Satanism was originally an Earth religion which actually predates Christianity by a leap and bound. Satan represented the Earth, the elements, the universe. However Satanism also represented a rival pagan religion which Christians needed to vilify in order to eradicate it. So the master manipulators told their sheep, that Satan was actually the devil. Satanists today consist of two main strains, the pissed off confused goths who think that Satan is the devil and think that anything 'eeeevviiilll' is sooo coooool, and those who know what Satan is and make fun of the fact that the average joe still believes in the devil. I have excluded commandments that are not relevant, focusing on the ones which are directly contradicted by the Christian ten commandments. Anyway here they are:

Spreading faith by the sword is 'evil and inhumane'
On Tuesday, Pope Benedict cited a piece of text in which a Byzantine emperor is quoted as describing some teachings of the Prophet Mohammad as 'evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached'.
Well this might be a bit rich, considering the blood on the hands of the Christian massive, what with the crusades, the inquisition, and what have you, but the big hooha it is causing is a little bemusing. I say bemusing, but it is not really the correct word, typical would be more apt. It is typical that an bloodsoaked organisation like the Roman Catholic church would be so hypocritical when assessing the practices of it's main market rival. It is typical also that the Muslim factions should start losing the rag about a fair comment as far as I'm concerned. It is 'evil and inhumane' to use violent and unmerciful force in the propogation of a religion. Who can really argue with that? I mean if WalMart was sending in warriors and torture squads to establish their superstores around the globe, and threatening people with hell or divine retribution for not shopping there, I'm sure nobody would have a problem calling bullshit on it. Both the Catholic Church and Islam have blood on their hands, both have engaged in 'evil and inhumane' practices in the spreading of their faith, So why do they both have such a problem being called up on it. Why do we as a society give so much protection to religious organisations? Why are we not allowed to criticise a religion in the same manner we would a government or a corporation? I mean if you take a good look at Scientology, you can clearly see a collection of business saavy criminals who have realised that instead of forming a plain old organised crime syndicate, you can form a church and avail of all the touchy feely protective laws our society affords a religion. You can't say shit about the Church of Scientology without a billion gagging orders and charges leveled in the name of protecting religious rights. What about my secular rights?
