I have a point to get to "Why Progressive U blogging can make a difference"
During my break I found some other articles I wrote actually during my time in the Navy under the name DharmaWills(click to see article.) Read this article if you are are interested in knowing exactly what went on and my struggles in boot camp. Well, at least I hope conditions have changed, but Im pretty sure that article alone made a difference it wasn't too long before the Navy base took notice to it. Im actually so surprised at how Quickly something you write here gets posted to the google search engine. They actually read the articles and it wasn't long before they knew it was me. So what you write here leaves a mark or dent on actual history and researchable information. That's how I found my username and what interested me to start writing again.
Godfrey G Davis II is my actual name and i know that if you google my name up right now, some of my responses to articles will be the first thing you see in the search engine and I'm kinda proud of that.
So let me get back to the story. Yes... I thought of myself as a failure with all that iv'e been through and have overcame, I thought of myself as a failure. I took full responsibility of my life and to the extreme I left no excuses for why i couldn't succeed.
My brother's favorite quote is " Success is not ones position in life But the obstacles he must overcome to succeed". And I truly didn't understand that till just about a year ago and here on Progressive U, I have progressively and unknowingly created milestones for this adventure called my life.
It wasn't till now that I've come to realize how important it is to write as an individual on sites like this. We all want to feel like someone hears us and sites like progressive U gives us that opportunity. It wasn't till now that I realized how stupid it was of me to be discouraged by so little page views because now three years later I can see that in time those views, if what you are discussing is relevant will increase exponentially because this site is not at all inclusive to just progressive U'rs , but to anyone who has the little amount of interest in the topics that you are discussing, because believe it or not your opinion does matter and blogging is the avenue for aspiring writers, Poets, Journalist and the list goes on.
Im am allot better now. I have been given the opportunity to go to school all expenses paid because of my experience those years ago and my life has taken a new turn. I've been through allot and by blogging I hope that I can be an encouragement to other people. This is the only place where i can write something and get so fast of a response time so that it feels like someone is listening to me. And as i struggle... I know that I'm not alone and someone is rooting for me.
I am guaranteed to fail many more times in the future. But i hope to continuously get the support of my fellow bloggers and readers to help me move forward and all I can say is, thank you Progressive U. Thank you for creating this site and to all of you who are discouraged because of the fact that there is less likely of a chance of you getting a scholarship. I just want to let you know this is so much more than just that. So much more.
For me being progressive as it says "Progressive U" has nothing to do with my political label, But in three years I have come to realize that its the challenge of the individual to progress in life itself.
