Blog Action Day Winners!

Another Blog Action Day has come and gone and while we didn't have as many participants this year as we have in past years; we're pleased at the community response our Blog Action Day entries received!

As you have probably guessed, we're now ready to announce our Blog Action Day Competition Winners! The contest was close, but we've been able to narrow the field of eligible participants down. So without further ado...

Please offer your congratulations to Darwins Beagle and John W. Connelly Jr! Both provided the community the opportunity to explore climate change a little more in depth and gave us all a little food for thought!

As promised, donations in honor of these two amazing community members have been made to their environmental charities of choice.

Darwins Beagle chose Project 350, an international movement, sponsored by the Sustainable Markets Foundation, to stop climate change. You can learn more about Project 350, make your own donation or sign up to participate in this weekends' events at http://350.org

John W. Connelly Jr. chose the Sierra Club Foundation, a public charity that provides financial support to the Sierra Club and other environmental organizations so that they may continue carrying out their work. You may learn more about the Sierra Club Foundation, make a donation or get involved at: http://www.sierraclub.org/foundation

We would also like to extend our congratulations to Bridge. While we said we were only going to choose two winners, we liked her entry so much that we've decided to make a third donation, in the amount of $10.00, to the Big Cat Rescue in honor of her post! You can learn more about the Big Cat Rescue, make your own donation or get involved at: http://www.bigcatrescue.org/

Finally, we are awarding a Community Choice Award to Fallon. Because of her official role with ProgressiveU, her entry was not eligible for the prize but out of the four entries, hers received the highest number of 5 star votes from the community! Congratulations!

Thanks to everyone who participated in Blog Action Day!

Cheers,
The Progressive U Team

Although there weren't many blogs this time around, I think they were all of a great quality and made a change, even if only in our little community here at ProgU.

And thanks again for my honorable mention! Big cats all over the world thank you too. :)
