Aristotle

When I was reading about Aristotle in my philosophy class, I begin to understand why Aristotle said that philosophy begins with wondering. I think Aristotle is trying to tell the world that philosophy begins wondering for the sake of asking "why". He's wants the world to know that we can discover what things are and why it's here. In other words, wondering makes us question things like why do we exist on Earth and why is the Earth is round. An example would be wondering about the planets, the sun and the moon would allow us to know more about our world and our surrounding. It would make it better for us to know more about the planets, sun and the moon to prevent natural disasters. If a meteor or a hurricane approaches our planet, then we will be much more prepared for such disaster. No one wants to worry about such natural disaster because we don't want to face the pain and misery. We don't want to face seeing a close friend or a family member suffer to death. Wondering gives us a huge lead in improving society and making it a better world for us to live in. Another example is that terrorists are planning to invade our country and we know about their plans. When the terrorists launch their attack, we will be better prepared to defend ourselves from any harm. We don't want to go through a World War III, where we can only see pain and sorrow. I bet no one wants to see their friends or family die for no reason. If we don't wonder for the sake of asking, then we will never seek the answers to our questions.
