Dear Mr. President, Members of the Senate, and House of Representatives:
With grave concern and a weary heart I write this letter, have we not learned the lessons of history? I look at the radical fringe members of the Tea Party they are forthright with their threats of violence, and they have gone so far to take firearms to town hall meetings including the ones attended by the President and other elected officials. I have read too many times that "We did not bring guns this time," and "The Tree of Liberty has to be refreshed with the blood of patriots and tyrants." We have pastors praying for the death of the president, other elected officials, and other perceived difference.
At this moment in the history of our great country at times I feel like I am watching the news reels of the 1960s not the news reels of 2009. We are experiencing an increase violence against gay men and women. We are experiencing an increase violence to those with perceived differences.
The failure to speak out against these actions I feel in your silence you condone it. Please address these issues in these troubling times. Do not stamp your approval with your continued silence.

The essential difference between democrats and republicans is this: Republicans run on a traditional family values platform, and they are the worst spokespersons for traditional family values. It is easy to scream traditional family values, but if traditional family values includes having affairs, getting nasty divorces, having sex with the same sex all the while saying they have traditional family values. That is some image of traditional family values we should all inspire to look up to. Living in a glass house and throwing stones.
Family values is amusing, but morally the two sides are equal.
Republicans run on smaller more fiscally responsible government, then grow government spending and deficits.
Our current Democrats run against the war and rail against invasions of our personal privacy, then double the troup levels in Afghanistan and renew the Patriot Act.
