If you aren't familiar with the song, its by the hip hop artist, Lupe Fiasco. In this song "Put You On Game" from the album entitled "The Cool", he speaks about what people would do to become "cool" or "famous" in result selling their souls to become that singer, rapper, basically anyone who wants to be in the lime light. He starts the song off in a low demonic voice as if he was the devil or an imp lighting a ciggarette and cocking a gone back. Then her goes to his normal voice saying "Don't you know that I've run place, and i've become this race, must I re-run this pace." Taking on the rule of a character who has already done this and what already a head.
What i like most about this song, is how much it enlighten me on what people would do just to get the "American Dream" as Lupe Fiasco puts it. It was almost as if it was the devil was speaking to God saying these are the people you want to say. I rule all of them, cause I make them cool. Down to the hustlers, to rappers, even to the poets. They all follow me. Another part of this song that really stood out was when he said "I hope you die in this trash, I can't help it all I hear when you crying is laughs. Im sure somebody find you tide in this bag behind a hospital little baby crack addict had. Then maybe you can grow up and be a stripper, a well-fare receiving prostitute and gold-digger." It stood out to me because, there are alot of females who wants or is looking for love in all the wrong places. They go out with the star football or basketball player that promised them the better life. And the guy almost never comes through with that promise. Leaving the girl to go on well-fare or become that gold-digger or prostitute.
Every time I hear this song, I see something different and new. However, I see the same demonic character speaking to God or to a person who has been consumed by "The Game". This character keeps saying I've done all of this and this is why it is the way it is. I make them cool and they give me their souls. "I am the safe haven for the rebel, run away, and the resister, the trusted misleader, the number one defender. And from a throne of their bones I rule, these fools are my fuel so I make them cool". Meaning there was people who has done this, and he rules us and how we play this game. I'm sorry to turn this into a spiritual or christian thing, but I have to. Simply because it was written that why by Mr. Fiasco. But in the end of my vision, I see God just looking at him like you poor little imp. I rule all, and what i say goes it happens, and nothing less.
