Textbooks for College Students

Have you ever had to buy a college textbook for a particular class or major? Then soon later regret taking the class or selecting the major because the textbook cost a fortune. These books break our pockets, and come to think you only use it for about 4 months and then you never see the inside of the binding again. Well, how about the cash back for books? Where you take your pre- used book back to the bookstore to get cash for it, however, when you trade in your book you get much less then you expected to receive for this pre-used book that is well in good condition. You say to yourself, " How and the hell do I purchase a book for $180.00 and at the end of the 1st semester you return you book and get $ 50.00. But that's not it you discover the book store turns around and sells that book you just returned for twice as much as they gave you for it. That's crazy and simply ridiculous; they're robbing college students blind; I mean what happen to the good old days to where the teacher gives you the book and you sign a retarded little slip saying you have this particular book, and at the end of the semester or year you return the book. There is just no sympathy for college students anymore. People don't care if you can barely afford to live on campus, eat, or have transportation, but they strongly demand you to have these expensive books that breaks the pocket of college students, who barely have any money to start out with, and then they take advantage of us by giving us a so called good price for the return of the book to the store. I mean come on give us a break!

Its absolutely ridiculous that every semester I have to come up with 500-800 dollars just for my books! Its insane! However- if you do order them ahead of time off of the internet they tend to be a lot cheaper. Although you still end up spending ridiculous amounts of money on your books.

I have a class this semester that the author of the book we use decided to put out a new version that has no color and is soft-back and it cut the cost of the book in half!

I suggest all textbook publishers/authors go with this option. Although they probably won't because they want that green.

It costs money to produce a textbook. Who do you think should be paying for YOUR textbooks, if not YOU?

I have a blog that's helpful for buying cheaper textbooks. I'm currently updating it and posting it again.

The old blog is called "How to Buy Textbooks the Smart Way"
