Strongest ladies in the world....

So I recently hitchhiked from Portland all the way down to LA; this was part of my epic journey to chill with some future midwives, my first stop was in the city of angels to see Brit who has agreed to work as my partner someday for a while whenever we get our shit together and become midwives...

Next, I'll be heading to El Paso to visit Katarra who just might be my future wife; no, probably not, we don't agree on everything ethically (for example, she's a trapper by trade, killing endangered beavers and otters for a living, whereas I'm a freegan who only eats dumpstered meat and roadkill because I'm apposed to unnecessary cruelty and killing,) but she's a very inspiring lady to me, who, as soon as I met her, was instantly strongly attracted to her and my soul was stirred and said "hey, here's one of the strongest ladies you've ever met in your life!!!"

Speaking of ridiculously strong ladies (well I've been meeting more then my share lately, including a gorgeous lady named Ceairah who has Road Kill tattooed on her knuckles,) I met a lady named Cricket on my way down here and my soul leaped inside me as soon as I saw her; again, I knew she was one of those once-in-a-lifetime type people who seem to come from another plane of existence they are just that amazing! I've heard Cricket's name around before in forest defense circles; my guess is she does quite a bit of that stuff, but what was really intriguing was the stories she told me about her friends....

She mostly spends time in Northern Cali with the Woodseys; a group of anarcho-crusty-old-timey kids who do forest defense, often live out in the woods surrounding Santa Cruz and who are apparently starting to have babies in droves, by themselves, with no midwives to help. Cricket said "I like to help at my friend's births because I'm a massage therapist and I know a little about anatomy and stuff, so I like to think I would at least know when something was going wrong..."

First of all, punk ladies having babies!!!!? RADICAL LADIES OUT IN THE WOODS HAVING BABIES!!!! Where are these people and where have I been??? These are the clients I've been searching for...this is the population I want to serve! I'm so excited to hear that some radical couples are actually having babies; because in my base of friends, everyone is very anti-breeder...

My friend Sascha brings news from the North (Canada,) that anarcho-crusties up there are also having screaming little brats up there; he says their excuse is that they are cold in Canada and they need droves of little ones to keep their beds warm...

So radicals are having babies; and I'm gonna be midwife to some of my people....

Ok, so Cricket and I where super excited to meet each other; she because she was searching for direction in her life and wanted to know whether she should go after midwifery or not, and I because...well anytime I meet a truly radical lady, and not just a lady who likes to get drunk and listen to punk rock, not a lady who strips or sells her body to make a meager living and lives cheaply in a punk house, not a lady who lives as a tramp just 'cuze she has no direction in life and likes to get shitfaced all the time, but a truly radical, strong, independent woman who puts other people to shame with her determination, intelligence, strength, ethics, ability to survive, desires, passion and love; when I meet THOSE ladies, my heart nearly leaps from my chest because we are truly a rare and magnificent breed. Men with these characteristics are truly rare as well and cause the same reaction within me.

/well, anyway, I'm realizing this entry isn't making much sense because i"m way too tired and I need to sleep...I'll write more about my favorite ladies tommorrow and how we need to embrace strength with everything we've got if we are gonna turn this siduation we're in around...
