I am going to do my best to keep this a progressive entry, although I'll admit it may be more Facebook or LiveJournal material. But it is something I've been thinking about for awhile so please bear with me.
What cheers you up when you're having a bad day? Particularly guys. I know a simple thanks for the hard work I'm doing often does it. Or if I'm just plain in a bad mood, things aren't going my way, etc. a gesture from a person I care about will often cheer me up. Especially if it makes me think about the giver. For girls flowers or a stuffed animal is almost never the wrong choice.
Why am I rambling about this? School just started and my boyfriend has been swamped with his job in the school's post office. Due to the economy, more students than ever are ordering their books online and this means hundreds of packages a day for a school of less than three thousand. An employee decided that the first week of classes was a good time to take a vacation, and many other student employees wanted the week off as well. Add to that he never really got the summer off and obnoxious customers, and I can tell its been a stressful week, but its spilling into this week.
Anyways, I'm just curious about what's a foolproof way to cheer any of you up? Because frankly, I'm not good at it at all.

(1) extra smooches.
(2) cook or buy his favorite food.
(3) try something he loves to do, and really get into it. Games, exercises, philosophy, art, ...?
(4) little reminders of your affection.
Psychological pick-me-ups are certainly relevant to living a good life! Surely women appreciate all of the above, not exclusively (but perhaps with extra emphasis on) #4.
Oh yeah, I just realized I didn't put any categories on this.

Although my family cheers me up, nothing cheers me up more than attending church and being in the presence of the Lord.
Proverbs 15:30 (Amplified Bible):
"The light in the eyes [of him whose heart is joyful] rejoices the hearts of others, and good news nourishes the bones."
