In n' Out: Part One

On June 8, 2009, I graduated high school and started preparing for my room in college. Here is a collection of my moving in and settling down into my new college room.

Two months before move-in
I got my roommate assignments. They were all girls. This had to be a mistake, not that I was complaining. I talked to one of my potential roommates, and she was cool with the fact that she would be living with a boy in her appartment. However, the second girl called and she was surprised to realise my gender. Turns out, she didn't even know what the "M" meant next to my name meant.

I had to get a new appartment.

Day 0
The alarm clock went off at 4:55. Woke up early so that I could take out the dog and get ready for the long trip. Mom told both me and my sister to be ready to leave before seven the night before. After breackfast, mom still wasn't ready, in fact, she was still tired and wanted more sleep. It was now 8:33.
We finally left the hose around ten. I said goodbye to Oscar, my dauchsund, after helping my mom drop him off at the kennel. I probably won't see him ever again. Afterwards, we picked up my mom's medicine for the week and then paid for and picked up my new eyeglass frames. It was now 11:15 (12:15 in Orlando). There was no way we could make the six hour drive to Orlando and sign into my appartment building before the leasing office closed.
I spent that night in a hotel, oppisite of my plans. The place made me itchy.

Day 1
After waking up and "enjoying" the hotel's breakfast, we left for the leasing office. I picked up my keys and went to my appartment building. The electronic key didn't work. Maintenance came by and unlocked it for us. I went up the stairs so that I could unlock my new room and stat unpacking. THAT key didn't work either. Maintenence came by once more and had to replace the entire lock because the previous tennants stuffed the lock with cement somehow.
I openned the door.
Warm air hit my face like my sister's pummeling of my nose when I put my feet in her face. It was humid, but bearable. There were two statues of little boys in the room. We started to unpack and get everything put away. I started to feel drowsy. Cameron, my new roomate, showed me around the building. The previou tennants had made a huge mess and Cameron, Chealsie, and Bri were still cleaning up the place. I came expecting the room to already be clean, but the previous tennants took so long to move out that they missed the cleaning deadline. Someone came by to check for mold. I never did find out the results, but I know for a fact that there was mold. My allergies were starting toact up. Drowsiness, fatigue, and an uncomfortable itch.
We went back to the leasing office to get a new appartment. After being shown aroun by Evan, one of the interns at the office, we settled on an upstairs bedroom. My NEW new roommate wasn't there at the moment, but, after stopping by Target to do some extra room shopping, I started moving in anyways. Cameron was kind enough to help me move all of my stuff to the new room. Everything was squared away, even more than when I was in the last room. Mom wasn't comfortable with me rooming with someone she hadn't met yet, so I still had to stay in the hotel for the night.
Later, in the hotel, I got an email form the people at "Voice of an Angel". They had finally sent me the information for the contest's call back auditions at "Rock the Universe" in Universal Studios. Despite the good news, mother dropped the bad-breath bomb on me. However, I had left all of my toiletries in my room. We went back to the appartment complex to pick up what I needed. I even got to meet my new roommate in the process. His name was "E.J.". He seemed nice. I went upstairs to grab what I needed and go.
On the way back to the hotel, mom said that I'll have to change rooms AGAIN. She saw that E.J. was drinking beer.
I'll have to move again...
We also switched hotels that night. My itchiness from the night before had spread to my mom. There were fleas in the room. The new hotel was the opposite of itchy.

That was the only thing to go my way so far.

To be continued...
