Transition

I cannot believe that I will actually be a college freshman in the fall. It is less than a month away. Craziness!!

Anyways, along with new classes, professors, and surroundings, college will be a huge transition for me. I will go from living at home with parents over my shoulder watching my every move to having incredible amounts of freedom. I know my parents are wondering if I will be ready for the outside world in less than a month. Time is flying. I hardly have any time left to prove myself to them anymore. Anyways, I just want them to know that I will do fine in college. I do not know how to explain myself to them, but I am the type of student that will get all my work done. No matter what I will try my hardest and do well in my classes.

College will be different from high school, that much I am sure of. First of all, the professors will not really care if you are in class or not. There is so much freedom in college too. I have to make the call about when to study, when to go out, and when to come home. It will all be up to me, and I feel I am ready for this new responsibility.
This is a really random blog guys, sorry. I just wrote whatever came to my mind.

this is a random blog but a good one becuase it allows other people to share with you their views on colllege. haha. college is such a huge responsibility but if you go into it thinking you can just push right by... ur wrong, its very tough... especially right from the start when you have to decide whether you want early or late classes because u might choose the scedule that fits your friends but it wont be convienient for you.. its also hard to say no to some people when they ask you if you want to go party or hang out with some friends and you have to study. time gets away from you very fast.... and it is awesome not having teachers telling you what to do or yelling at you for not being in class... its so much better in college, because professors are alot more straight-forward and they dont really care too much about what you do. but thats also a bad thing because if you miss a class... the professor isnt going to be there to help you along with what you missed... u will either have to learn the material or get the notes from someone in class. and if you constantly goof off or always turn in late assignments. the professor will be tougher on you just becuase he can. college is a fuckin awesome expirience =) but also a great test of maturity. it is difficult at first to get used to having complete independence but if you did good concentrating in high school, the chances are... u will do good in college =)

but dont get me wrong... college is amazing!!!!! when your done studying there are so many parties all over the place depending on what school you go to. but it is so awesome not having to worry about anything. haha... so what school are you going to?

and P.S.- make sure you find out who your going to be sharing room with before you get to the room so if you need to switch you can do it right away before your stuff is unpacked. haha

Thanks for the advice! I am going to the University of Rhode Island. Go Rhody rams!! Woo woo! I know college will not be a piece of cake, but the challenge is part of the experience. I sometimes have trouble with time management, so that should get a little interesting, haha. But I am working on staying organized. I am looking forward to college so much! I'm leaving in like two weeks. And I found out my roommates already. They seem nice, so hopefully it will all work out, lol. Thanks!

Just wait for the first time you come home especially if its for an extended period. Thanksgiving break was crazy for me. So was Christmas. My parents treated me like I was no different. They were always asking about my plans for the day, bugging me about packing. Its weird being so independent and then being reminded that not much has changed.

Haha I'm 26 and it's no different when I go visit my mom. Old habits die hard. :-P
