I am half Spanish [mother is from Spain] a quarter black, and a quarter Chinese, [ father from America] so one can say that I am very mixed. While growing up and watching t.v I noticed something, all the families on the t.v were one race. i am interested in knowing if anyone has ever seen a commercial with a mixed family? usually in huggies, and toys, and whatever its an all white family, all black family, etc...
I'm not here saying the media is raciest they should have mixed kids blah blah, or anything like that at all, I've just always thought it would be interesting to see a family on t.v that has a Caucasian dad and an African American mother, or an Asian mother and a Mexican dad or something you know? not just commercials, but sitcoms on t.v also. Is there a reason the media lacks mixture like this? Personally, I never thought that it was done on purpose. To be honest, I thought the people who made commercials and t.v shows just really didn’t think much of it. I don’t think it ever ran across their mind. I’m not saying there are no mixed familes on t.v anywhere, obviously I can’t watch every single thing on t.v. Especially since I don’t even watch that much t.v anymore anyways. So I could be out of line.
