Many kids in high school, like myself, are filled with the wonders of college. It's different from the atmosphere of our past education systems...its the only one that is significantly different from High, Middle and Elementary school. For most kids, this is the first time they had to pay for school and/or leave the comfort of home.
I am just curious to know...how many scholarships did you receive? What college did/do you go to? Have you ever gotten a scholarships and had it revoked? Have you ever felt like you a got a loan and it cheated you totally, with hidden fees and other stuff? What sororities/fraternities were you/are you in? What''s your favorite college story. Did you lose touch with your high school friends? Went to a party and got totally messed up? Did you meet the love of your life? Felt like your whole persona changed? Your major/minor, and how many times did you change them until you finally picked the perfect one? Wasted money on a class that didn't relate to your profession?
I just want to hear feedback on how going to college affected you..even after you left for the ones who have graduated already.
Feel free to answer all, some or even one question.

Enough to pay roughly half of my three year education. Maybe more, since most of my last year was completely paid through scholarships. I didn't take out any loans.
University of Colorado, but not the main campus in Boulder.
Nope.
Most of them, yes. I still talk to a few of them. But, I also speak to one of my middle school friends more than I speak to my high school friends. Facebook has made it much easier to keep in touch.
I think it's stupid to go out and get drunk, and I didn't drink much at all through college. Call me prude or traditional, I don't really care. But, I thought I might enjoy life a little more if I didn't screw up my body in the process.
I met who I thought was the love of my life in high school, and we continued our relationship until about 2 months before I graduated college. I haven't heard from him since... March or so, and I graduated last year.
Actually, I changed more in the 6 months after college than I did in my three years in college. Having your world turned upside down from the way you expect it to turn out will do that to you.
I majored in biology and minored in history. I started college as a chemistry major, but changed it about a semester in when general chemistry bored me. I added a history minor (and pre-med emphasis, which means absolutely nothing since I was taking all the classes anyway) after a year and a half or so of college, after taking a college history class. I had enough history credits going in that I only had to take one history class a semester to get the minor.
Very few of my classes directly relate to my profession, so that's a silly question to ask. Besides, college is about exploring the world of knowledge, and I should hope that you have more interests than simply the basics of the profession you ultimately want to go into. That being said, is there a class I feel I wasted my time and money in? Yes... I would have greatly preferred to take a different class for my ecology biology requirement than conservation biology. But I think that was largely because I had an intense dislike of the professor and not exactly the subject matter itself.
