So, once you aren't doing much of anything, your friends start coming up with all sorts of ideas for you about what you should do next. My friend Katarra thinks I should apprentice with a fox/coyote trapper in North Caroline. My friend Rowan has suggested apprenticing with his midwife friends in Georgia. Morgan thinks I should do the beet harvest in Minnesota and make $1,000 in a month. (After that I could always stay in Minnesota and try to join the wild rice harvest again.) Other midwifery friends here in Portland think I should start attending births here. My family in New York thinks I should move back there and start working on my sustainable community there. Caroline says I should take a boot-making apprenticeship with a friend of hers...
Now the question is, what do I want to do? I've spent the past three weeks or so living a life of complete leisure; tanning hides, reading books, snuggling a lot and making out with my new partner/friend Morgan (in the park, under trees, in my room, on the couch,) walking once a day to Cherry Sprout to pick up groceries, watching Andrew and Jethro, my favorite little four-yr olds, eating wild foods like Salala berries, Oregon Grapes and plums, etc.
Love ya,
Carrot
