What's so bad about being weird?

It seems to me that people are quick to label me as the weirdo. Not that I mind, I love the publicity even if it may be somewhat detrimental to my ego, but why do we have these labels anyways? What is the definition of "weird" anyways?

I looked it up on dictionary.com. Here's the results:

–adjective

  1. involving or suggesting the supernatural; unearthly or uncanny: a weird sound; weird lights.
  2. fantastic; bizarre: a weird getup.
  3. Archaic. concerned with or controlling fate or destiny.

I personally like the third definition. It makes me feel powerful.

Anyways, the second definition is the one most commonly used. And with this definition, the meaning is taken as "deviating from the norm". In this case, we may want to define the word "normal".

–adjective

  1. conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural.
  2. serving to establish a standard.

Hmm.... It seems that normality isn't all that normal after all when you think about it. Normal is "conforming to the standard or common type". However, what is considered standard or common changes constantly. Therefore, normality deviates from itself, making weird the norm!

Well, sometimes when we are too weird, we are weird alone. Sometimes when we are weird it scares others. Sometimes we are just called weird by others to isolate, us due to their jealousy of us. Most of these weird are smart. In the words of MCH, they “can’t touch this.” There are positive weird.

Let love be you mentor!
