Go India, Jackson's, and BET.

Sooooo. I haven't been on this site in a while but I think I am going to get back into the swing of things.

First for India. I think it is a step in the right direction for them to decriminalize gay sex. It was one of the few democracies that are left to have anti-gay legislation. It's just the first step but in my opinion something is better than nothing in this case. It is just sad to me that people are already making comments that this will start Armageddon. I don't even want to start the whole religion issue here. I just hoe we are moving toward acceptance.

Second The Jackson Family. I think that people need to stay out of their lives. I for one would not want the death of a family member of mine to be broadcasted and picked over. These people are human just like everyone else. Yes, Michael Jackson is an icon, a celebrity, and the King of Pop but if, in my opinion, you were a true fan you would honor his memory more by staying out of his personal life and let his family grieve on their own. Let the man and his pest rest in peace and let his music live on forever as it should.

Third the BET awards. Talking about the Jackson's brings me to the BET awards. I only watched the end of the awards but that is enough to make me question what is going on in the Black community. Yes there were some great moments and I love the tributes to Michael but that show lacked so much class. All I could do was question. Where are the nominees? Why is the host promoting himself? Where are the classy acts? Why the hell must we portray the stereotypes that bring about our oppression? Seriously people? Seriously? The antics of the black community is what makes us comic relief in movies and other media.
