A prominent late-term abortion physician is gunned down while ushering at his church.

Truth becomes relative in the political, religious and social realms
We push to see how far we can go before someone says something. And the line keeps moving.
A vicarious society is one doomed to fail.
You have to wonder what the world is coming to as it dies. Since we, for the most part live in the United States, we wonder when it will come to an end here. Not an end of the world end, but from a governmental standpoint. As Rome aged and violence became ever and ever more a product of the society, it began to crumble on all levels. We've been called the new Rome, so it only begs to happen that this all comes crashing down terrible soon. When morals are corroded, society tends to fail. We're witnessing the end of at least society in the United States, I believe. Not now, but in the future, probably sooner than we think, we will fail and restart again and the world will wait for the next empire.
We watch the news and see headlines of a late-term abortion physician is gunned down in church in front of the entire congregation, including his wife. In a religion where peace is the basis, as per Jesus, it has certainly failed itself with politics and the evil of organized religion in general. God's anger is righteous, murder is wrong, but killing in the name of God for murders, by some is seen as righteous. The calamities as such, are terrible. Since when did religions lose themselves? The foundations are based on peace, acceptance and love but only individuals seem to follow these teachings. When will people take back their faith and go back to the original foundations and put the end to religious violence.
Only time will tell if our society in the United States turns around or follows on a path of self-destruction. I suppose we await, some of us with fear, others with baited breath, eage for a new beginning and a way to start over.

The book of Revelation?
Great post, sadly enough, most people need to stand upon that clif before they get it!
Just a week or so ago I saw something on the news about a state institution in Texas (I think) where staff members incited developmentally delayed clients to fight each other and recorded it. Disgusting! Another example of why all state and government health institutions should fall.
I would actually be relieved to see the fall of America. Its not that I don't love my country, but there is too much corrosion and corruption in the foundation. It needs to come down and be rebuilt. Even people like Obama who seem to be doing things with good intentions are simply building on top of already corroded roots. It can't stand forever.
"O, I'm sorry you took that, -I meant that for the Devil, and you have stepped in and taken the blow. Don't get between me and the Devil, brother, and the you won't get hurt." --Billy Hibbard
Eh, Bush and Obama both are destroying the government in my books. Obama, I think is speeding up the processes even quicker than Bush. We just need to start over really.
...wait, are you blaming Tiller's church for his death? o.O

No, where in any of that does it specifically say, "Tiller's church caused his death."?
I said that the corruption of Christianity from its early beginnings to now breeds people who'll kill others because they believe they have wronged God and that by killing in God's name, they're committing a righteous act.
Then you are thus assuming that Tiller's killer was a Christian. We don't even know for sure who did it yet (although the police have a suspect), much less what his religion is. o.O Also, as we can see from people like Tiller, not all who claim to be Christian act accordingly.

Betcha he is a Christian.
As we seem from a majority of Christian, most don't act accordingly as Jesus taught. Tiller was as much a Christian as you.
Considering the large number of witnesses to the murder, there really isn't much doubt about who the killer was. Oh, and Scott Roeder IS a christian...lutheran to be specific. Interestingly enough, Dr. Tiller was also a lutheran.

Yeah. I read about Roeder last night. He is an "old testament" christian who believesd in the maxim, an eye for an eye.
Also, as we can see from people like Tiller, not all who claim to be Christian act accordingly.
As we can see from people like Tiller, not all who claim to be Christian act according to your interpretation of God's will. He did what he believed to be the right thing and stood up for his beliefs, and subjected himself to a mass of negativity. And, knowing his own faith community would show him Christ's love through hatred and self-righteous condemnation, he still joined them with his head held high.
He is just as worthy to call himself a Christian as you are, and as worthy as anyone who thanks God that they are not like other men–robbers, evildoers, adulterers–or even like this tax collector.
"What a crazy random happenstance!"
