Israel would become a nation. It has, in 1948
Knowledge would be increased. Knowledge accumulation has exploded.
Wars and rumors of wars. World politics and broadcast technology bombard us with this everyday.
Description of cars and traffic and 'raging' in the streets.
Description of nuclear warfare. Not possible before our times
Scoffers of Christianity. We all know that one
A great lie 'sent to those who refuse to believe'. Evolution ?
One world government. We're almost there
Chip technology to register everyone. We're there
People would 'curse' the sun. Thinning ozone ? Global warming ?
Disease and Pestilences. People will die from 'beasts of the field'. 35 serious diseases now come from 'beasts'. Much happening here
1/4 of the world in famine. 1/4 of the world is starving
Gospel of the end times preached to ALL nations. This is done.
One world economic system, that eventually fails. Very close.
Rampant drug use in society. This happens with pharmaceuticals AND illegal drugs.
Alliance of Russia and Iran, treaties of both with China. This is done.
Revival of Roman Empire. The EU is that revived empire.
Man would ruin the earth. Its happening, pollution, pesticides, etc.
The world leaders will run to and fro in perplexity. The last years have seen them confounded in global warming, oil crisis, economic crisis...but no answers.
People would fall away from Christ. They are
Man would have a form of 'godliness' , but denying the power thereof. The world believes mankind can overcome all problems.
Israel will sign a 7 year treaty. They have been working on this for 40 years, soon to be forced to accept an EU peace plan.
Israel would be a 'trembling' cup to the whole world. They are, and the cause of uncertainty in much of the world
The enemies of Israel would seek to 'erase her from the earth so she will be in remembrance no more.' They have declared these very words.
People will be self-centered, boastful, arrogant, lovers of self more than lover of God, given to pursuit of pleasure without restraint.
This is not all, but it gives you an idea.
You may not believe but how can something thousands of yrs old explain everything that we're going threw now... hmm
No one knows when the time is but if judgment does come over the earth soon, I pray that all of ours hearts are right with God. ;-)
Every generation of humanity has been convinced that it would be the last. Besides, even if this time we're actually right, what's the point about worrying about it? It's not like Armageddon can be prevented.
Well, zoey, I think you may have hit upon some nerves, but not mine.
I remember going to church with my husband on Easter, on all the while knowing that we were there to celebrate something that happened a long time ago, and I couldn't help but feel a sadness. I was happy to be there, happy to be with my family, happy to see the others there, happy to rejoice in the return of someone special to earth that sacrificed his life so that we could have ours. I was happy to know that there was someone that could rise above the hate and malice of humans; to show the world that not everyone has a reason to see the bad, but can overcome it and make something good out of it.
But underlying that, I felt sad for this world. How many people have seen tragedies happen and not do anything about it? I'm not just talking about those that watch the news with a "Tsk Tsk" or a "how tragic" comment, that believe there is nothing that could be done. I'm talking about those that are the reporters, the news press, the local media: those that seem to thrive on the inhuman parts of humanity. Sure, there was a time that the press was on hand to "report" the news and let others know what isREALLY happening in the world, and perhaps they did so once with a measure of dignity and respect for the sorrow of the victims. I just don't see that anymore. As far as all the other problems, it's been time-tested that "those that do not learn from their past are doomed to repeat it" ( I don't remember exactly who said that first, but it's so true) which unfortunately is happening.
So kudos to you for pointing this out. But those that do not know, or refuse to believe, will continue to ignore the signs.

And those who wish to believe will continue to ignore the fact that those "signs" are as constant a factor of life on earth as the sun being in the sky.
This is not a matter of belief or disbelief, this a matter of hysteria. Swine flu is not a pandemic, and monetary troubles are not a global darkness. War is as perminant a factor today as it was in St. John's time. In fact, the very book of the Bible which these examples come from (Revelation) also warns not to attempt to predict when exactly the End Times will be. Time and again in the New Testament, the reader is warned that God will come "like a theif in the night." Therefore, what's the point exactly of worrying people with posts like this one?

Its easy when A) the "prophecies" in question are extremely vague, and B) you have a whole world of current events to pick and choose from while you try to find a square peg that will actually fit in the round hole of your preconceived beliefs.
