Wake Up! Is Anyone Out There!? Is Anyone Listening!?

People are crazy, sane, insane, normal, dysfunctional...so many words for so many people and instances people live in. What makes us one thing makes us another. We try to label everything and don't just let things be. It's insane...oops, haha.

Want to know what's insane? Apathy. Can we honestly exist in a world with so much pain and turn ourselves off to it or pretend it isn't there? Sure, there are people who care and it bothers them but we're all too damn complacent to watch it go by and not do anything. I am one of those people but at least I'm writing this and saying something. Still, why can't we look in our own backyard first? If actions truely speak volumes then working toward bettering people in America should have an impact on the outside world, shouldn't it? I have no clue. Want to know what I think? That the world is overcrowded but people have meaning and we give them meaning. I think it's a damn shame that some people mean less than others, a fucking shame.

What happened to love? The things that people used to look up to mean nothing anymore. I might be a misanthrope but I believe that there is good in people. That honor, courage and virtue mean everything and that love, especially true love never dies. It's true, money and power mean nothing except for now, but the rest, it means everything even after we're dead. Trust me, if a friendship dies and that person meant a goddamn lot to me then nothing can destroy that even if our friendship is destroyed. It's because those things mean everything whether society thinks so or not these days, I know that they mean everything.

Find some passion. We live in a world where passion is depleted daily and driven out of us. Be passionate in life. Be passionate in every aspect of life. Since when was the last time you really lived and were passionate about every single solitary aspect of your life? The world beats it out of us while telling us the exact opposite. Listen to your heart and mind, live for Christ's sake, live. Live and love the life you live, the world you exist in...everything...or at least try your best so that when you die, you have nothing to regret. The greatest shame a person can have I think, is dying and regretting to have never lived.

Is anyone out there? Is anyone listening?

we, as in I, know what you are talking about

and am not apathetic to what's going on around me

“You cannot wean away an addict from the drug. It is not possible for me to walk away from Ranjha. If it is our destiny to be together then who, other than God, can change it?”

Wise and true!

Things will get better when realization will kick in globally, we are not there yet.

The best part is, no one has to give you, me, or anyone else permission to Live in Love.

To me, this is the height of human existence, and it doesn't matter what one thinks or believes when they are in this state.

I admit, while I have touched that plane before, it is not something that is always accessible. That plane of Love is always there, and ready, but my own brain stands in the way, entangled in irritation and dissatisfaction.

Love is the true breath of life, and without it, we would die. All of us have some somewhere, both inside and outside of us.

Clearing the mind of clutter and useless anxieties is essential to gain access to what is possible in this life.

While it is disheartening to witness the suffering of much of the world, and many of our fellow humans, it is important not to lose sight of Love. By becoming angry and hopeless, we close doors to love in ourselves, and this perpetuates the darkness so prevalent in our world.

There is a documentary I have seen parts of a few times, called "Words of My Greatest Teacher." I was struck by the affect of Khyentse Norbu as he encountered suffering and tragedies. He maintains a smile, and a little "skip" in his step. He is happy because he understands that peace is internal, and cannot be disturbed by external factors, without our permission, anyway.

"From the World Cup to the mystical mountain kingdom of Bhutan, Words of My Perfect Teacher follows three students on a quest they hope will lead to wisdom. The catch is … the teacher. Soccer obsessed, charismatic filmmaker, and citizen of the world: Khyentse Norbu may be one of the world’s most eminent Buddhist teachers, but it’s a job description he slyly rejects at every turn...

Words of My Perfect Teacher was made during the course of a year that included attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, months of tension as India and Pakistan went to the brink of nuclear war, multiple suicide bombings in Israel, a stock market drop that plunged the world to new depths of economic uncertainty, and the U.S. war on Iraq.

If ever there was a time to inspire students to "wake up" and learn the wisdom necessary to engage in compassionate activity, this was that year. The film’s point of view is inspired by Buddhist philosophy — which says that we can’t really change human behaviour until we learn to deal with our mind. Because the mind is the starting point of all suffering, closed hearts, entrenched views and prejudice. And to study the mind, you need a teacher."
