Doggy Do

I was walking around my neighborhood when my walk was interrupted by a pile of doggy poop, then another, and another and another and another. I don’t if other people have had this experience but it spoils the walk for me. It happens in the Park and at the Beach too. People seem to see these places and think they’ve got a license to use them as dog toilets. It is trashy and smelly, and doesn’t make much of a good impression of the neighborhood either. I am not a dog owner but I assume it isn’t that hard to put the waste into a plastic bag as they are supposed to – other people manage it, I’ve seen them. I think if people cannot pick up after their dogs then maybe the parks and the beaches are right to think about banning dogs from these two respective places. I feel bad for the dogs, it’s not their fault, it’s the owner’s. Maybe there should be a way of reporting negligent owners to some sort of authority or something but then maybe the dog gets in trouble? I would not like that. Well at least for now, I think I’m going to need to find an alternate walking route.
