Considering the oppression, the outrageous violence and official lawlessness triggered by the new prohibition, the worst public policy since slavery is a bigger scandal and disgrace than sex in the oval office!
The statistics reveal that bigotry, intolerance, racial prejudice and discrimination are epidemic in the drug war. The new prohibition fuels corruption of public officials and injustice in our courts. The official lawlessness exposed in Tenaha, Tulia, etc. is the tip of the corruption iceberg.
Police piracy or out right extortion spurs a reform effort and a lawsuit. Black motorists are suing officials in E. Texas. The mayor of Tenaha defends the town officials' actions. Help end asset forfeiture!
The Innocence Project has exposed the racism, homophobia, anarchy and incompetence in our out of control "justice" system. Watch, "The Exonerated," you'll get the picture.
When these travesties are exposed those who are responsible should face legal consequences. Senator Ellis' bills do not go far enough. Stop using uncorroborated eyewitness testimony. Timothy Cole is a victim of democide.
Democide is a term coined by political scientist R. J. Rummel in his book, DEATH by GOVERNMENT to describe "the murder of any person or people by a government, including genocide, politicide and mass murder."
What we have now is official lawlessness, a problem brought about in a large part by our senseless drug policies, which ignore science and history. All the unnecessary deaths triggered by our drug policies are democide. Servants of tyranny play on our fears to make us more accepting of their waste of our precious lives and resources. Paramilitary drug raid confrontational tactics cause violence rather than lessening risks.
Yes, folks, it's happening in America and around the globe not just in Mexico. Amnesty International's statistics on the disappeared worldwide are unconscionable. At least 230 US citizens have been murdered in Mexico in the last 5 years.
It is worth repeating, violence and official lawlessness triggered by the drug war will end with repeal just as these policy created problems vanished with the repeal of alcohol prohibition.
How much more evil do we have to suffer before we abolish these insane forms to which we have become accustomed?
It is reefer madness to equate use with abuse and to punish nonviolent people for a safer choice. It is down right sinister, a crime against humanity, for the medicinal uses of cannabis to be suppressed.
Patients testify to Cannabis' help in treating post traumatic stress, chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, gastrointestinal (GI) tract disorders, Alzheimer's, Cancer, epilepsy, hepatitis C and HIV/AIDS and more! They swear it is an effective safer replacement for very dangerous pharmaceuticals.
Servants of tyranny are good at ignoring history and science while catering to the needs of special interests but very bad at determining what is best or safer for the individual or society. The tobacco, alcohol and prescription drug gangs cause more death annually than all illicit drugs.
Profiteering has no place in medicine, which must be concerned with the well being of the individual not the bottom line. Doctors who have monitored cannabis use by hundreds of thousands of patients in California and Oregon can document a consistent pattern of using less pharmaceuticals including cutting opiates use by half. Repealing prohibition of marijuana would bring other much needed healthcare reform.
Marijuana medicines were once the "drugs of choice" in the United States. It is down right sinister, a crime against humanity, for the medicinal uses of cannabis to be suppressed.
"Drink and drive and it's grrrrrrrr-eat! Smoke pot and your flakes are frosted, dude." Kellogg's cereal and munchie company had no problem signing Phelps despite an alcohol-related arrest in 2004. Read more about the snap that shot around the world; Snap, Crackle, Pot by Kathleen Parker.
Our own, Howard Wooldridge was interviewed by Kathleen Parker and provided information for this article about Law Enforcement Against Prohibition and gave her the statistics on child cyber porn & rape kits which she verified as true. A few hours later Ms. Parker was on Air Force One with three liberal columnists, flying with President Obama to Chicago. Howard has good information that Mr. Obama read her column.
Regulation, science based education and treating abuse as a medical problem is a better drug policy that increases public safety and harm reduction. LEAP has kicked off the 'We Can Do It Again' project, calling for an end to drug prohibition.
I'm betting you saw the scary headlines, "Marijuana Use Linked to Higher Risk for Testicular Cancer, Just Say No ... or Else You Get Cancer? '
The drug warriors are fighting dirty and hitting below the belt this time, darn their oily hides! Rest assured these are more misleading reefer madness propaganda headlines and articles blowing the (if true) risks out of all proportion to what the study actually shows.
So far we have seen small change compared to the campaign pledges of our first minority President. Promises, promises, is that all we get?
Ask the President to show himself to be a true servant of the people and grant pardons for medical marijuana providers already in prison. Go beyond stopping medical marijuana raids and stop all SWAT style drug raids; abolish the DEA! Make some kind of reparations for the policy caused harm to all nonviolent drug users and their families. Abolish the Drug Czar's office and put drug policy where it belongs under the Surgeon General. Restore justice in America; construct science based drug policies about saving and rehabilitating instead of ruining lives.
Volunteerism and activism are going to change America. We can do no greater service to the public than by supporting individual freedom, constitutional or small government and the teachings of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Thomas Jefferson said, "I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country." Ooooops!
Our Founders were good Christian men led by the holy spirit but money the root of all evil was part of it. They wanted to create the land of abundance. They knew ethics would have to rule for it to work. The Spirit of '76 is the Holy Spirit and our true north.
The Bible says, "without a vision the people perish." Our founders' vision of self-government, of an America free of big government oppression and tyranny, is the one true patriots still hold dear. We are standing on these promises. Join the Easy Revolution!
Servants of tyranny responsible for current quagmire will one-day answer to a higher power for their crimes against humanity. We can be brave and end the terror by changing our intrusive, big-bully policies, both foreign and domestic. The monetary and environmental costs are staggering and the human suffering unconscionable. Take action, now, join the Campaign For Liberty!
Save the children, just say NO to prohibition! Trigger less violence, racism, tyranny and ruined lives!

I really enjoyed reading this essay. It's defiantly thought provoking. I remember Obama saying in his campaign that he would support medical marijuana laws to be decided by each state (as about 13 states do currently under NORML). I hope he in fact keeps that promise, though I understand why it's not at the top of his 'to do' list. Did he make other promises in regards to marijuana?
Though I liked this post, I want to make it clear that I dont think all drugs should be decriminalized, but I DO think marijuana should.
It was sad what happened to Phelps. Celebrities have to be even more underground with their marijuana use. He should have known better than to smoke in a setting where someone would take pictures of him.
Thanks, mia! Nonviolent drug abuse is a medical problem and it is safer for the individual and society to treat it as such.
