So I suppose I just want to write about my schooling, my own personal expectations of me, really whatever I please.
College is so much more meaningful to me now than it had been right after high school. This certainly doesn't apply to all people, but I know I am one of those folks that needs time off to explore her surroundings and just let life ease me into the groove that suits me best. My original intentions had been to enter the world of fashion and design. I had an interest in many other things, but I felt that perhaps I had a calling for Interior Design. I headed right away to one of the local Junior Colleges, took a few classes and lacked the proper mentality to really blossom. I ended up taking two and a half years off, explored this country of ours, grew up and am now in school as a Physics major. This may only affect the Junior College I attend and the classes I take, but I hardly see any Science or Math majors! Where have they all gone? Did they go right to a University, or is there simply not enough emphasis on the importance of science anymore? In a country where a president was able to get away with enacting No Child Left Behind, lowering our educational bars, it's not terribly surprising, but it's still really sad.
Right now I expect a lot of myself. I demand focus to my goals and the most I can do to achieve them. I currently taking 17.5 credits this semester and I plan on having my summers devoted to learning. It is said that ignorance is bliss, but I don't see why knowledge isn't the true bliss. At times I feel as though I must catch up to my graduating class and then I realize that even though I am two and a half years behind my graduating high school class, I am still doing pretty well for myself. Not to pat myself on the back here, but I have continued on with my education, I am my only responsibility, and I have a solid plan for my major, which can take many people time to figure out and cost them extra time in schooling when they figure they are interested in something else.
I will continue on here with new ideas, new updates and just newnewnew in general!
