Obama Says…Ex-Presidents Can No Longer Block the Release of National Archive Records

According to a news article from the Associated Press, President Barack Obama has just passed an executive order stating that from now on all former presidents can no longer block the release of “sensitive” records from their days in the White House. This means that ex-presidents cannot contain and keep information from the public any longer. It is now up to the current president. What does this mean for the people, you ask??

Let me tell you…

For example, more information about the Kennedy assassination can be revealed. There could be new evidence that LBJ tried to cover up after his inauguration. Were LBJ and the government behind the entire assassination? More documents and records from the Watergate scandal might also be available now. Is there any new evidence about Nixon’s plans? Will we finally get to hear the missing sound bytes? There has to be a ton of records and documents pertaining to the terrorists attacks on 9/11. Will the public have access to any new evidence now? Another age-old question, “Are there aliens among us?” Will Obama release information answering this unknown phenomenon?

This new order does not mean that ALL the records in the National Archives will be released. It simply gives Obama the right to release records that he feels are “safe” for the public. If there are documents that were kept a secret, but no longer jeopardize the safety and prosperity of America, Obama now has the right to release them.

Although the public will never know the entire truth about America, this new order may shed some light and expose some evidence about events of the past. I am interested to see if and what records Obama will release.

By the way, here is the article…

All of the incidents you mention happened under the terms of presidents that are already dead. Thus this order has no effect in those cases. Unless Carter, Bush (either) or Clinton was covering up those aliens.

if the the information is a matter of "national security," so alot of 9/11 info would still be blocked.

According to the article I posted along with the blog...

"Obama's executive order also makes clear that neither former vice presidents nor relatives of former presidents who have died have authority to keep records private."

If I am not mistaken, any records of past presidents can be released. It is just up to the current government to decide if they threaten security or not. So anything about Kennedy.... can potentially be published.

Past presidents can ask the government to keep documents from the public, but it will be ultimately up to the current government.

"Obama said former presidents may ask to have certain documents kept private, but they no longer may compel the National Archives to do so."

I am going to keep my eyes and ears open. Regarding 9/11, I don't think there is much that the government was hiding about information they had *before* the attack, but there has got to be a whole lot of crap on how Bush managed to weasel the blame onto Saddam Hussein. I am sure there is a lot of secret information he chose to ignore that pointed to other more likely suspects.
