National Sanctity of Human Life Day, March for Life, and WTF?!?!?!

The few weeks are going to be really big in the pro-life movement. Really big as in HUGE!

Today (Sunday the 18th), is the National Sanctity of Human Life Day, as declared by President George W. Bush. Yay, Bush! For all the idiotic things he's done in office, I'm glad he did this the other day.

Thursday (January 22), is the 35th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. Every year, pro-lifers from all across the nation of every race and religion have gathered in our nation's capitol to oppose the disgusting violation of the inalienable right to life. This is called the March for Life and every year, even through snow and rain, people spend money, time, and energy to send a clear message to our authority: America is pro-life. The 2009 theme is:
"REMEMBER, the Life Principles mean "Equal Care" with No Exceptions!"

I am participating in the March for Life and I actually leave tomorrow afternoon. I won't be back til late Saturday, so that's why I'll be absent for the next week, in case anyone misses me!

Next Wednesday (January 28) is What the FOCA Activism Day. You can sign the petition. The Activism Day is to make people aware of the Freedom of Choice Act and to pray that it and similar bills do not pass in Congress. If you don't know what the Freedom of Choice Act is, then read my blog post on it.

In my area, one of the home school moms and I are trying to put together a prayer service. The mom had an awesome idea of lighting candles every 24 seconds during the service, because one baby dies to abortion in America every 24 seconds. To hold a half hour prayer service, that's 75 candles! 75 human babies with the INALIENABLE right to life die every half hour. We're thinking of praying the rosary (traditional Catholic prayer that takes about 20 minutes) and reading the Luke 1: 26-38 (the annunciation, when the angel Gabriel appears to Mary and Mary says yes to God and yes to life). Then we'll break and have lunch.

Then for me, Friday will be busy because I'll be watching three little boys (kids of the aforementioned home school mom) while she gives a breastfeeding lecture at the local pregnancy crisis center.

So the next few weeks are going to be incredible. I am so excited to be a part of this and feel so blessed that everything has worked out so that I can go to the March. This is my third year in a row of going to the March and I think this year will be even more important than the previous years. The only thing I'm dreading is the cold and the possibility of rain. But I'm sure that if I die of pneumonia, the babies will appreciate it. I plan on blogging about my March experience once I return! In the meantime, please pray for the success of the March for Life and that our Congressmen recognize the importance of women and the dignity of life and DO NOT pass FOCA.

I have a question about the pro-life stance, as you see it. What is your opinion on Universal Healthcare?

Well, I'm off! See everyone in a week, provided I don't die of the cold. :P
