A Diabetic woman to whom it was prescribed that any excessive intake of sugar can be fatal, on an impulse downed an entire jar of cookies. She collapsed and was admitted in a hospital. She is in a critical condition. I read this in a newspaper article. Then I later read in a magazine that how it’s the mind’s working that in turn leads to binging. It’s like, what happens with me everyday. After Iam finished with my dinner, I end up having a chocolate bar. Even though Iam full or ready to burst open. Then of course when the bar is finished, I regret on ever touching it in the first place.
There was this point in my life, when I had become way too fat. I used to read articles on how to cut down and would try out various exercise patterns. I would work out everyday for an hour. Even though it felt good, it wasn’t that rewarding. I didn’t lose as much as I expected. I didn’t know what I was doing wrong, until I happened to read an article in Reader’s Digest. It said that for some people working out works, while for others cutting down on junk or unhealthy food works. Whereas, for the third group, the combination of both is highly effective. It was a “ta-da” moment. As I was eating a lot and working out a lot and still not being successful, I fell in the third category.
Oprah Winfrey’s 2009 resolution is to loose the excessive weight that she has piled on. It gets me to think that by the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how much you have exercised. But how much you restrained your mind from over-eating. If the mind is not happy, people tend to become agitated. And dieting doesn’t help either, because once you have reached your desired weight you tend to put that back on.
I guess, people should come out with mind-diet plans wherein it’s like a workout for mind that enables you to control the impulses to overeat.

i definitely think that when people dont take their mind, thought process, or emotions in to consideration and try to begin a weight loss program, they have a harder time and a higher chance of failure. i used to work out a lot and was determined that if i worked out i could continue to eat like i always have, not worry about it, eat late, over eat, eat processed foods etc... that went on for a long time and u know what, i didnt lose very much at all, i did get stronger and that was a plus, but not until i decided to couple portion control, and an active and positive, optimistic mind state, with exercise did i start to see drastic results
peace n blessings
