I know I said that I had posted my last blog for this website, but somehhow it just seems stupid to have done so much and to have worked so hard to give up the day before the results are given. Therefore, here is another possibly-soon-to-be-deleted blog entry from moi:

Many times, people are told that compromise is a guaranteed way to work out their differences. In most cases, each side of the issue sacrifices part of their arguement in order to reach a satisfactory agreement that is suitable for both sides; however, this is only true for the issues that do not have a lot at stake. If an issue, such as abortion or the economy, is divided between a large difference of opinions, a reasonable compromise to the issue can be difficult to apprehend.

In politics, compromising on huge and controversial issues can delay solutions because most of the politicians' time is spent arguing their positions. while the politicians aree fighting, the people of the country are left waiting, wanted compromise, without actually realizing that compromise is diffiicult to achieve when people have strong and divided opinions of the issues at stake.

Finding a compromise on family issues may not be in the best interest of a certain member or members of the household. For instance, if a young adult believes that they should be allowed to stay out late to irresponsibly party, and the parents strongly disagree to this, a compromise in their decision could jepoardize the young person's safety.

Even in my own personal life, compromise is hardly a perfect solution to every issue. in oder to attend college, I have to remain at home, where I can live for much less than what it would cost financially to attend college out state, or even in another county or city. Yet I am willing to make that sacrifice in order to achieve my dreams.

Compromise can be a wonderful solution to many ordinary problems, yet when the issues at hand are risky and contraversial, most time is spent debating a compromise, rather than finding one. Thus, I stongly believe that compromise is not always the best way to resolve a conflict.

Why would this be deleted? Its pretty good, many people get to busy argue for a win when a descent solution exists.

no, i took it on December 6th - why?

Because one of the essay questions was on whether or not compromise was good in all situations and so your essay reminded me of that. : ) BTW, I took it again on Dec 6, too. I guess we'll find out on Christmas how we did!

oh thats cool - I was just brainstorming one day - I was going to write about revenge concerning family (when a family member is killed, and you feel its necessary to take revenge for their death) but I had more ideas for the compromise one, since it reminded me of my Larry Mills Workshop topic about politics.

I can't wait to see how I did on the December SAT - I've never taken it before so I'm really nervous about my score!!! I can't even remember what the essay was about now... but I don't think we're allowed to talk about it.

Well, Dec was my third time taking it. I'm hoping to get a 2070 this time.

No, we're not allowed to talk about it until after we get our scores back. However, if you go to collegeboard.com, go to My Organizer, then My Tests, there's a little sentence that says something about "flash back to the December 6 test and find out which section didn't count". So if you go there, on the right panel bar, there's something about the essay, so if you click on that, it brings you to the essay options that were on the tests.
