Talib Kweli and his religion

I love Talib Kweli. I don't know if many people here know who is or what he does but he is the real deal.

He is one of the few artists that I truly do admire.

I know I talk about Kanye here and there, quote his lyrics...but that is because what Kanye sings is so mainstream and becomes such a trend whereas Talib spins rhymes that truly inspire one, to reason and to think, his words flow as the river or a stream, they leave an impression on this unknowing and unlearned being. And he does not crave attention like Kanye, he just does what he has to do. *

To me, he is one of the utmost sincere artists out there. I like what he has to say and I love that he is not afraid to say it. He transcends and aims beyond worldly materialistic things (although it does not hurt to have those things).

Please give him a chance, open your eyes and clear your heart

And then this kind of sucks,

I had better things to do, but...These words penned themselves.

Just because I listened to the worldly profound beats, that were threaded by one of The Words' supremely beasts.
I'm inspired and enlightened, as you can undoubtedly see. It’s gratifying to feel that he’s got hope for lost brothers of the “ghetto” decree. Today, although they dissappoint their legacy, I've voted for "The Messiah," so the good life is not just a dream. I’m waiting on all this patiently and this is saving me from ending this misery.
I hate on this hell every moment of every day, yet, I’d be lying if I didn't say, I'm expecting earthly heaven coming my way.

edited to add that I might write more about him if I get some feedback, but I really don't think many people are interested in rap or even alternative hip hop :)

I'm trying to figure this out...and fix it.

Some help, someone!

I don't know how many people caught it, but I posted a link to a bit he did on Def Poetry on my blog, "Religious Intolerance is Everywhere." If you want to see just search Def Poetry on you tube and then talib kwali.

"Please give him a chance, open your eyes and clear your heart" is a link too

Talib Kweli is many things...of them is a powerful mind, and another, a reasonable voice to be reckoned with.
