What does unity mean to you? Describe its importance and how it is exemplified in your campus and or community?
Unity is the bond that holds different types of people together. I believe that unity occurs when people collaborate and get over any differences he or she might have. When people unify, there is a special bond that cannot be broken by just anything.
Unity is one of the most powerful assets that people are capable of having. In a world stricken by war and terror, it is the one thing that can keep people sane. Unity provides solutions for problems locally and even globally. If people united, the world will be less chaotic.
Unity does not have to be on a big grand scale like everyone wishes it to be. It has to start from the roots and grow up. Before we can combat global warming, world peace, or any other global issues, unity needs begin in the community. From the community base, it can build its way to a national and even global scale.
For many years now my community has been able to achieve some sense unity within our schools. The student body puts on rallies for any major event, whether for football games or academics. Streamers, balloons, and signs, are put up on every possible inch of wall space in our gym. A rally brings together the entire student body under one roof. We celebrate school spirit and reward each other for working hard and getting good grades. Although there are many different types of people that go to school, during rallies, we all come together to celebrate. Rallies bring us one step closer to unity.
In this modern world, the need for us to be unified is growing stronger with each and every day. Global war and green carbon footprints are just a few examples that have been brought to our attention in the last few years. The world is changing and if we do not come together, it will go spinning out of control. Unity is the only thing that will hold the world together.

Unity is common consciousness awareness in its finest expression!
