A Collection-Drifting Thoughts

In the midnight hour, under the lit up neon signs that color and decorate the world,
The face that stares back, it searches...delves deep under the skin.
Uncovering the secrets that you caged, locked up;
Holding back, you let go of the hand and,
Ignore the eyes...the questions they ask, the things they demand,
You let go and hold them in. The vulnerable is you.
Yet you try to do some good, and open me up.

My eyes that yearn to remain, covered,
so that Blissfully...I may sleep through the night...

Let me be, that was me then, and now...

I've left those insecurities behind but,
Help Me, screams the sole me,
Keep me safe, hide me from the world.
I will be changed for it’s written by the heavens.

So please...hold me close and don't let go...
I can barely let myself not mind; accept the thought of not being with you,
Not seeing you, feeling those eyes on me,
And treasuring the breaths shared with you

And through all this…I beg you,
Leave that ever present mild mannered you, behind.
Until you take me and my life more than a joyful, joking, jest,
Meant to entertain your days and comfort your nights
It should be the end of you and I.

And don't you dare tell me,
It's just...love love love,
Because I might have been drunk, with the wine you once lovingly poured into me,
And the heart might have been consoled by your sympathy, but my Eyes,
They see past the veil that has hidden, all that was to be shared between you and me.
