Finances, retirement, life insurance...If you are not married and are under 30, chances are these subjects rarely come up in day to day conversation. Lately, i have seen many of my friends make irresponsible financial decisions. Recent circumstances made me decide to write this blog.
This day in age, there are new phones and laptop coming out every 3-6 months. However do you REALLY need texting, and the hottest new phone? Ig you do not have AT LEAST 7,000.00 saved up for EMERGENCY , then no, you do not. USAA says that everyone should set a financial goal, and stick tot hat goal. For emergency, you should have at least $7,000.00 saved up , and that after you pay your bills, that you should pay yourself first, before you do anything meaning, you should put money into savings/emergency fund.
this is very important. out of all of the friends i talked to, only ONE friend has a financial planner, emergency fund and a spending fund. This friend is oly an E4 in the navy, and owns his own house. How did he do this? He sacrificed, there is a way to save money and have fun. My husband and i have been having to do just that. here are some easy ways to save money and have fun, while not spending a dime, or very little.
1. For all you cell phone people.
tired of paying for going over your minuets? Ever heard or a prepaid phone? Some do nights and weekends, so if you can hold out untill 9:00 pm, your set. If it is REALLY important, your friends will call you. Or you can hit up your local cell company,i know SunCom and Metro PCS offer unlimited everything for 50.00 a month.
2. FREE MOVIES!!!!!!! Who needs the theater when you can watch movies for free online?? Whats best you do not hve to pay a sitter, you can pause the movie and you do not spend $$$$ on over priced sodas!!!!!! HOw do you watch movies for free? Well online of course!!!! MY husband and i discovered this hot little site. I will share it with you.l

3. Name brand foods are just a name..
Yep try buying the store brand foods,or look for the cheapest item, another way to save money is to get the store cards, Food lion ALWAYS has Buy one get one free. this is very important when you have kids.
4. Like to get your "hair did"? Go to the cosmetology schools! they do it for free! Why pay to have your hair done when you can do it for free? Just look it up in the phone book and have at it!
5. Freecycle.org. Is all i have to say. You get FREE STUFF! This site has a group for every city. People who like to recycle their furniture. clothing whatever. I got my washer and dryer off of there, for nothing. check it out, it is a yahoo group.
6. resale shops. There are stores that will buy your clothing and give you cash!!! You can get NAME BRAND stuff for like 80% off of what you would in the stores.
&. Do not waste money on something that does not serve a purpose. Example, my friend just spent $75.00 on a tattoo. After she was just complaining about buying bread...well now she is $-300.00 in her account.....
