I wonder why i did not recieve the warning while in the state few months back, i sure would have taken precaution. being in love with fruit is one bound i have not been able to break , keeping such habit is good but knowing that some good habits could be detrimental to your health is terrible.
Amongs all fruits, i love apple the most and i can feed on it if care is not taken until few days ago when i got an email from my sistr warning me against apples and even if i have to take it, i should wash or rinse in hot/ warm water caues they are being prserved with wax.
The email came with pictures proving her right, i wanted to puke, maybe all the wax i had eaten in the name of Apple would come out, i hated my favourite fruint instantly.
Will health organisations keep quiet over waxed apples, at least for the benefit of those people who will not have access to this information like myself and feed on apples, wax is not to be taken in and yet we consume it with fruit and consequently patronise the hospital for one ailment or the other.
if you are in the position to help, either to discourage it or inform the public,. would you please save a soul by telling them what apples are coated with?
for better information, go to image on google and type waxed apple.

what are the side effects of consuming a wax coated apple? i am interested?
The first answer i will give to that is; wax is not food at the first place thus should not be consumed, seondly this wax is used as a preservative for the fruit thereby keeping a fruit looking healthy and appealing even when they are meant to be disposed of. What about indigestion which leads to constipation and possibly appendix.
Hope this will help, or perherps you think the consumption of wax should not be bad?
It sounds uncomfortable, but not terribly dangerous.
but for now on i am going to peel my apple
Apples produce their own wax to keep from drying out and rotting, but it gets washed off because the apple industry washes apples after they harvest them. So, in order to protect the apples, they put on a new, similar coat of wax.
The wax the industry puts on apples washes right off with water (don't use soap!). It's not like candle wax; it's wax made from the same stuff like leaves use to make their wax. If it wasn't on the apples, they would rot fairly quickly. It's not all about a shiny appearance.
So, it's good to wash your fruit, but you don't have to peel the skin off your apples, unless you just don't like eating the skin.
And, that same wax that coats apples is also used to coat other foods that you don't wash off. Like Snickers and Milky Ways. The wax is actually kind of harmless.
Here's a somewhat long article on wax if you're interested.
