where the wild things are

the other day, I was reading a news article and I saw that a young boy less than the age of 12, went into a zoo and started feeding LIVE ZOO ANIMALS to an alligator. Even more horrific, is that he climbed over the fence to get a closer look at the alligator closing its jaws of death on the animals that he fed to it. I understand that he maybe convicted criminally, but really what is going on with todays youth that a child would feed a poor chipmunk or bird to an alligator. Or where the hell was this kids parent? I have never ending issues with our lack of prevention in this country. Our lack of prevention in medicine, in education, in crime, in abusive homes, in basically everything. We flounder like idiots because we dont know what to do. I have a few great ideas. First, its time to investigate mom and dad or whatever the living situation, because if they are screwing up this kid, its time to do something about that. Then, I would stick this kid in counseling. Want to know why we have serial killers and such? this is why, because no stopped and said hey, wow thats really bad maybe we should do something now before he goes and chops up bodies and leaves them in his basement. Just a thought. So, even if his home is great and mom and dad or whatever have won parent/guardian of the year..then he needs help be it voluntary or forced on him. he also needs constant, and frequent monitoring of him and his wearabouts. this is a kid, who if we dont stop and support now will be moving on to bigger, better and more twisted things. Yet, will we stop it, probably not because we believe in this country that you should fix it yourself that you should be free to do what you want. Then, when you do something that offends the public and makes the public outcry..well then we all play the blame game. Isnt that how it works, instead of fixing the system, we will say..why didnt he get help and blame the parents or blame someone else, but we wont change it. We just dont care that much. If that was my son throwing living zoo animals at an alligator, I would be putting the child in therapy for life. Yet, I have a feeling that he will be one of our failed cases in the system. Similarly, in the US a few weeks ago, I read about a bunch of teens, who went into a zoo and stabbed a flamingo (blind flamingo) and they were worried ti wouldnt pull through. Better yet, the flamingo was old and it was taken from its only companion. So, there we have it yet another case, when we should be doing something but instead we just stick back and hope that the ways of justice will kick in and punish these kids. How about fixing them! It never ends..we have such a screwed up system..and there isnt a politician out there that cares what happens to you or me. They care about what their party cares about and are willing to do whatever they want for their interest. We have to start fixing the world, we need prison reform, education reform, and everything in between reform. Lets stop covering up our eyes and instead work towards a better solution

that is absolutely horrible about the live zoo animals. well, it is believed now that psychopaths are born with a wrong wiring in the brain, and some times the parents have no control or didn't contribute any reasons for why the kid commit horrible crimes.

but yes i do agree with you, we need a better system. i think we need to focus more on therapy and counseling in prisons.
