I've got it! The key to protect marriage.

If you live in California, you know what I am talking about.

Prop 8 has passed, and same-sex marriage is now banned in the state of CA. I would get into the logistics of the issue, but it's almost my bedtime so I'll save that for another post.

During election season the Yes on 8 campaign ran various ads throughout the state of California that pushed for the passage of the proposition. They argued that Prop 8 was essential to protect marriage, to save tradition, to preserve religious freedom, and to provide a better future for the children. The campaign even put upwards of 25 MILLION dollars into their campaign, that is how IMPORTANT this was.

Needless to say, Prop 8 passed and same-sex marriage is illegal in CA. To you Yes on 8rs, you protected marriage!

After seeing this proposition pass and thinking about how sanctified marriage now truly is, I've got some more ideas to share. LET'S BAN DIVORCE AND INFIDELITY!

I mean really, what is the one thing that ruins marriage? Divorce! It's a horrible thing when two people fall out of love, decide they can no longer cohabitate, or discover that they have grown apart. How devastating this is to children and to families! Divorce only destroys children's futures! Split-homes, split-holidays, split-birthdays, split-wardrobes, split-everything! What about infidelity? Think about how heartbreaking it is to come home to your spouse with another person! If only it was illegal to cheat on your spouse. By banning divorce and *criminalizing infidelity, just think of all the marriages we will save! No more unhappy spouses! No more horrible fights! No more domestic abuse! WOW! Marriage will REALLY be saved! This is what God wants. God intended for marriage to be a lifetime commitment!

Oh, and the children. The children! Just think of all the heartache that will be saved by having two parents in a marriage that can never be dissolved, even if their parents' can't stand each other! I can just see it now...

Okay, all I need are some signatures and a petition to get on the next ballot. Tell all your friends and family members that marriage is under siege, and that we must work hard to save it. We must protect marriage! Let's call our proposition Prop 8B, and amend CA constitution to ban divorce and legalize infidelity. Hopefully this proposition will pass with at least 51% of the vote, and we will destroy the right to divorce so we can save marriage!

Let's save society! Ban divorce! Save the children! Protect marriage!

Maybe some out-of-state religious organizations will fund our cause?
