So, this past weekend I stayed at college with my friend. Pretty much immediately after getting home, I got the flu. Coincidence? Could be. That's not really what matters, but college campuses are dirty places. LIke, sometimes really, really nasty. Why don't more college-age kids get flu shots? And yeah, maybe some of them do, but no one can convince me that a vast majority do. I work at the flu clinics in a college town, so I can tell you first hand who gets flu shots. Screaming toddlers with health concientious parents, the elderly who are concerned about illness, those who work in medical fields or with kids, and sometimes the odd teenage sports player, usually a big guy being dragged by his mom or girlfriend. You don't see very many college kids. Ever. None of my friends who are in college were even really aware that they should get the flu shot!
So now, perhaps you are wondering why I haven't gotten my flu shot...if I've worked at the clinics, why not just get one. The answer is that at first I didn't know I was supposed to. I thought flu shots were for babies and the elderly. I did not realize that anyone who plays sports, spends time with kids, or spends time in a dorm or other communal living facility needed one. By the time I got to the clinics, or got cleaned up, all the equiptment was put away. So now, I'm sitting here, in my basement with, the lovely flu. My favorite thing to have.
So all of you out there who have not yet gotten your flu shots, go! Go! Go now, before your little brother or daughter comes home and wipes their snotty nose all over you (in the sweetest, most adorable way) to say "I love you." Learn from my mistake and go to your nearest flu shot. Getting the shot could save you from having to clean up puke all winter, because flu season is just beginning.

Well, we (my four siblings and I) don't get the flu shot because Mom doesn't like all the heavy metals in the shots. However, I'm 16 1/2 and I've never had the flu and haven't been seriously sick in years. It's a wonder what Juice Plus and a healthy diet can do for a person!

You must have much better luck than I do! My mom is a dietitian, so I get lots of healthy food...but unfortunately I've still gotten the flu, as have my siblings. We must just not drink the right juice :)
Maybe that's true, too LOL Well, also, I'm homeschooled, so I'm not exposed to it as often. Well, Juice Plus is this vitamin supplement. You have to order it from the company, but you take the fruit one in the morning and the vegetable one at night and we started taking them like five years ago and I haven't been seriously sick probably in the past three years that I can recall.

If you eat a balanced diet, you don't need supplementation, and it can do more harm than good in some cases.

Well, I agree that they can sometimes do more harm than good. However, in this instance, it's been very good. : )
