The debate on either free transportation should be produced in the cities has benn on and while some people speak for it with tangible reasons. others vote against it also wih reasonable reasons.
Considering the pressure of traffic in big cities these days, one would want to plead with car owners to limit the number of times they go out with their cars even though it sounds ridiculous. you can imagine yourself on the road for 2 hours held up in traffic for a trip that would ordinarily take 25 minutes. I have been experiencing this for the past 2 months since i got back to warsaw. therefore, i get out of the house 2 hours before my lexture time in order not to go late to class.
talking to sme car owners, they argued that they can not own a car and yet buy bus tickets. In as much as they also wish to help reduce the traffic on the roads, they would like the government to reach an agreement to cancel buying of ticket (funny)
This sseem to be an idea that will never be considered, putting out public transport for free. If you have ever been to poland you will understand, they have very good transportation system, lots and lots of busses, trams, metro (subway), trains. If these facility should go for free, what about maintainance. fueling, payment of staff and many more.
I think the only thing he government can do is to build more roads, bridges if it will help reduce the traffic cause if car owners drop their cars for "free" public transport, then very soon, there will be shortage of transportation for people without cars and maybe then, we will be thinking of overcrowded public transport.
In my opinion, transportation should be payed for, gvernment should build more roads and things will turn out better.
I think it should be paid for as well, but it shouldn't be expensive in my opinion because some people can not afford it I guess if it wasn't expensive. I have never taken a bus so I have no idea. What I think they should do is expand their bus routes to be honest because I could not get a bus even anywhere near where I lived and I don't live very far out. I don't know. I know Taxi's cost a fortune. Ugh. 2 exits and it was 20 bucks a pop. That was expensive for me. I was only like 8 miles from my house if that.
