Where's the Party?

November 4th has come and gone, Barack Obama is now President-Elect, the Democrats have a majority in both the House and Senate. So...where's the party? There was certainly celebration on November 4th and 5th, but it seems to have dwindled down quite a bit. I'll admit that I live in a red state and most of the people I see daily did not vote for any of the groups previously listed, but come on! An election just took place, we know who our next President will be and we're in the lame-duck stage. Why is no one else jumping off the walls with me?
I'm not saying people should be excited because George W. Bush is leaving office - although you can be - or that a Democrat has won or that perhaps our government will start working again, but people should be excited. For whatever reason you choose, be excited. Democracy with a little d just happened. We are going through a peaceful transition of power as a type. Join with me! Jump off the walls! Be excited, for crying out loud! Even if your candidate lost, don't ignore the fact that all this has happened. Find groups that support your issues and rally for them. Lobbyists work year-round; find a lobbyist you like (that sounds like a commercial slogan...). Go out, buy lapel pins and buttons, and support your cause, but please don't just ignore the last four days.

Your right the party isn't over. If we drindle down like this and don't hold any of the issues to our new elects then our dreams just might not happen.

But jumping off walls sounds a bit dangerous.
